Rational thought... Gone?

Here I sit in my son's high school auditorium waiting for the play to begin. I am once again pondering the logical reasoning behind the "School Safe Zone". My carry is locked in my truck as I am a law abiding individual.
I, for the life of me, can still find ZERO logic behind a law that does nothing but limit my ability to protect myself and my family from someone who is bent on harming anyone in their way.
If you are bent on murder, what in the world would make anyone think that a sign on the wall will stop him/her from that.
Can any one give me ANY logical reason for this misguided law?

Everyone at the school is much safer because no one is legally allowed to have a gun on the property. Obama, Feinstein, Schumer and the rest have told me so, therefore it must be true... oh wait, you said a logical argument... in that case there are none. Gun free zones are the ridiculous result of uninformed reactionary politicians trying to look like they are doing something for those ignoramuses who think guns are scary and banning them from law abiding citizens will miraculously mean that criminals will give theirs up out of the goodness of their hearts.

Sad state of affairs. I spend my days working in a similar environment and there is no logic to it.

"It's for the criminals!"

You are correct that it is for the criminals. To take it further it is for the criminals protection! We have to make sure that the BG does not run the risk of getting hurt!!! :sarcastic:

This is the type of laws we get from our mental midget idiots!!!

Perhaps we could post signs and declare our Local, State and Federal Governments to be Free of Stupidity! That might work!

Yes I can!! You now live in an asylum currently run by its inmates and formerly known as the USA. We are watching the the drain, currently known as the USA, circle the bowl before it goes down the toilet. We have a sociopathic narcissistic socialist/communist/fascist domestic terrorist (take your pick) as our king with no clothes and all the idiocy starts right there in DC and filters down through the inmate population mentioned above. You think this way and everything makes perfect sense.

When I think of it. The real "Sad state of affairs" is that there was ever a reason to hang a "Safe School Zone" sign or to feel we need to carry a gun inside a school for protection. When I was young and in school neither of these things were on anyone"s radar. Guns were for hunting and target shooting. I was never aware of anyone that owned a gun for home protection, they were all hunters. As kids, when in a friends house , the dads rifles were hanging on a gun rack on the wall, or in a nice wood cabinet with a glass door. No real security, but there was little need for that.
Fast forward 40-50 years. Gun shops are all over the place. The main reason people buy guns now is for personal protection, myself included, hunting seems to be a distant second. Guns now require trigger locks, and we store them on a 1000lb vault that can't be broken into without a torch. But as society continues to decline we will see more of these things happen. To me, this is a sad state of affairs.

You are right on

I've not seen the level blatant stupidty from the left, as it is now.

Ignorant, stupid, couch potatos with free meals cooking, a phone, foodstamps, welfare, and last but not least, the illegal hispanics who obtain disability, housing, and handouts due to fraudulent applications.

My wife worked as a doctor's interpreter, and she was asked to falsify medical and health records so a scum bag could freebies on you and me.

She up and quit when he dr superior (also hispanic) asked her why she didn't want to help her people.

Answer? They are not my people. I was born and raised here, and I've seen the worst of the worst coming into this country who scam the entire system while we live just above poverty level. She walked-out after that.

One day, she asked an illegal what name he was using this week...he and others had many aliases.

Someone else is undoubtedly falsifying records for hundreds of illegal aliens.

It makes us both sick.

Unfortunately, you are looking for logic where there isn’t any. Remember that if someone wants to hurt us (or just one person for that matter) they will walk straight through those restrictions, but they will not work through armed citizens now will they? I for the life of me cannot understand the thought process here.

You left out GAY (?). Google it.

No

Yes there is a logical reason to ban guns. And using schools as an example of a "reasonable restriction" that is "for the children" is an example of the tactics used to support the following logic....

1. An armed man/woman cannot be forced to obey but must be recognized as having the ability to resist being forced to obey.

2. Elites cannot hold their power if armed men/women cannot be forced to obey.

3. Men/women must become unarmed in order for the elites to have to power to force people to obey them.

It's not "for the children", it's not about "reasonable restrictions", it's not about protecting society from violent nuts and criminals.

It is all about removing the ability of men/women to resist being forced to obey the elites.

Period.

After all... pitchforks and torches are no match for the guns the Lords and Ladies in the castle (government) will still have once the commoners (you and me) are disarmed.

Even though I am, at the University level, a member of the education community, I must say and admit that not all indoctrination happens in the classroom. The subtle implicit influence of attending school overt many years in an environment that forbids firearms because there are too dangerous and might hurt someone is another, less obvious but probably more powerful force of indoctrination. The ever-present environment is likely a persuasive factor. To be honest all of the flags that went up in our classrooms when OIF/OEF began also fit this pattern.

At the very least it all works together.

So you are for campus carry?
I guess any of the 977,606 babies aborted this year so far would have been proud to call you Daddy! Nacelle

None of us have fear.

A non-believer will not listen to any proof of God or the Bible because they just want to be right. They refuse to believe science or man. Deny, deny, deny.
But it does not make you right, only more likely to put you in Hell.
