Radom P64

Does anyone carry a Radom P64? I recently purchased one via C&R (having had one several years ago, then unfortunately selling it), and changed the recoil and trigger springs. Now it's become my favorite CC piece. In fact, a few of the guys at the range were asking how to get one of their own.

I don't carry one yet but I have one. It will replace my LCP for pocket carry for the time being until my wife gets her own piece. How do you deal with the recoil straight into the web of your hand? I found shooting it an old glove most useful.

If you change out recoil spring (you can get different strengths at Wolff Springs), that cuts the web bite considerably. It also depends on the size of you hand. It's not a range gun, anything over 30 rounds and you hand is numb or tingly. For about $200 delivered it's not a bad carry. The latest one I got looked like it just came out of the box, literally no wear on the finish. Radom makes damn fine guns, all steel, durable with chrome barrel. I'm thinking of getting this P64 refinished with a subtle Cerakote in green. My other carry gun, a Ruger LC9, has a Corvette Yellow slide, due to loss of finish caused by sweating--me, not the gun.

I've had one now for a few months. It is a great carry piece, but does benefit immensely from the Hammer Spring change. Key for me is just how solid these are.

Based on you avatar I am speculating that you might also have bought both a P64 and a CZ82 at the same time?

Ive had the CZ for a while. I got intrigued by a smaller carry pistol using the same ammo. The CZ lives at home and the range, the P-64 stays with me.

I sold some guns and got the exact amount I needed for both and could not decide ... the rest is history.

My worry is that while I would like a lighter DA trigger pull I don't want to lighten up the SA?

I read a great deal about this. 18-19 lbs are fine. I have 19 with no SA issues. 17 lbs is possibly too low. I would make the change w/o hesitation so that your DA shots are reasonable.
