I am 19. My father bought me a 1911 Colt .45. Can I legally own it even though I'm not 21 and can't buy? Also, if I want to but another pistol from my neighbor, can I legally buy it from him? Another question, with a permit to carry, can you carry a weapon registered to someone else? One more question, what are the requirement to open carry an AR-15

Yes, you can legally own the 1911 your dad has given you. In AL, you can get a Concealed Carry Permit at 18. Go to the Sheriffs office in the county you live in. There is no gun registration in AL, so the gun is not registered to anyone. So you can carry it. I don't now anything about AL Open Carry Laws. This is a good source for handgun info.
