Question from a Newbie

Someone I know has been shooting a .22 handgun for the last year and now wants to get into conceal carry.

His question to me was what three guns would be good to buy? He says he wants one to be a pocket pistol. I said THREE guns? He said yes he wants two IWB carry and 1 pocket gun. His budget is not huge but definitely not small.

I recommended the Ruger SR9c, the Bersa Thunder .380, and a Kel Tec P3AT for pocket.
I figure the SR9c as main carry, the Bersa being thin and easier to conceal with a sport coat or suit and the Kel Tec for pocket.

Give me your thoughts. :dance3:

those are small enough and easy to conceal guns imo .......i for one not one for pocket carrying a gun but to each their own..i think for my own personal protection just one gun at my hip is fine and a pocket knife at my other side

if he has been practicing with a 22 for a long time then why not carry what you practice with.
I am a firm believe in lots of practice, weekly practice and a 22 is very affordable to practice with. Why not carry it.

Two IWB guns? Wow!

IWB guns...Glock 26 and Glock 27 They use the same holster and many spare parts are the same.

Pocket gun...Ruger LCP Even fits in Jeans pockets.

I'd go with a Glock 23, Glock 27, and an LCP or similar for pocket. The 23 is primary and the 27 will accept the same mags. So less to carry. Same controls in all guns so no confusion.

Glock 27 for pocket carry? You better have fat deep pockets. I concur with a Glock 27 IWB, and maybe a Beretta Nano for your pocket. I would not pocket carry either though.

Carry three guns? Curious as to what war zone this person resides in and how many BG's are threatening his everyday life?

What I have is a KelTec 3AT, Kahr PM9, Glock 19. I may ditch the KelTec for a Rohrbagh R9 when I get more spending money. Same size as the KelTec but in 9MM.

I am assuming he wants three different guns for different circumstances. If that is the case, he should purchase one at a time, because he may change his mind on what and how he wants to carry after trying it. I carried a Glock 19 as my off duty weapon for almost 20 years. I got tired of trying to conceal it and went to the P3AT and then decided I liked pocket carry but not the 380 that much and purchased the Kahr PM9 that I have fitted with a laser sight and love it for every day carry.
