Question? Carry ccw in church

What do you guys think? I attend church in Missouri. Our church is held in a high school auditorium rented by the church on the weekends. The church leadership does not have a issue with carrying. My question is does the school carry ban apply in this situation?

That is a very good question that I've never thought of. Wisconsin also has a prohibition against carrying into a school zone unless you are in your car and picking up your child. We just planted a church last year that meets in a school, and I never considered that if I visited it, I'd have to leave my pistol in the car.

In Arkansas, CCL carry is prohibited in churches. However, I believe there has been proposed legistlation to change that.

Missouri law prohibits carry on school property. Period. No exceptions. Churches, et al, are also prohibited by statute unless there is permission granted by its leaders (one would suggest it is wise to get that permission in writing before doing so.) Check the Attorney General's web site for current law under chapters 563 and 571 at http://ago.mo.gov

Only Person I have seen shot to death was in a church in MS. in the late '70s ( suicide ) Long story short The pastor and most of the male congregation as well as some of the females were armed faster than I could believe. If the poor bastard had pointed that gun at any one other than himself he would have been swiss cheese.

there was a shooting in co,3-5 years ago at a church by were this movie shooting happened,an off duty church goer shot the perp,,im begining to think we need to pass laws that, meen ccw is everywere, just like the 2nd amendment says ''you have a right to keep and bear arms''

Thats what someone told me Tht if you have permission from your pastor or church council/board it's ok

I think if you feel you need to carry your piece in your church then you are going to the wrong church.

I never bring any weapons into The House Of God.

I leave them in the car.

If you carry concealed then no one will know you have it with you anyway. If you happen to need it, better you face spending money on a lawyer in court than either your family spending money paying for a funeral or you paying for a family members funeral. I also live in MO and am always carrying, including Church on Sunday. It's got nothing to do with how you feel about your church or your relationship with Jesus, it is about being prepared for Satan to do what he is given authority to do here on earth. And the "House of God" is not sacred, only your relationship with Jesus is sacred. :)

In VA carrying in church is not allowed... unless you have "good and sufficient reason" to do so. Our Attorney General has stated that self defense qualifies. That said, I have not carried in church and doubt I will.

a church is still a meeting place and open to the public meaning anyone can walk thru the door. bad guys might even target a church thinking that no one would be armed, especially some of the wealthier churches. if you carry concealed then who is to know? who would have thought you could get killed in a movie theater? bad guys don't care about the niceties. i carry for a means of SELF defense, no matter where it is.

Our church has a security team, the church is large and has 2 services in the a.m. on Sunday. I have carried at church since I got my CCP, there are a lot of members that carry also. There have been issues in the last few years where a gunman came in just to kill. One of the churches was about a hour from me, you have to protect you and your family everywhere. I am glad to live where I can legally carry at church. Just because it is a church doesn't make it off limits to criminals, They may be there to steal the offering for the day or cause as much damage as possible.

My church is the same way as Sargedog's we have a security team, most of whom carry. We often get together for training and such. Church leadership is very much pro-guns, so we have no issues with any firearms. We live in CO, and in light of the YWAM and Co.Springs shootings a few years ago, church carry is not ever posed as a question.

Columbine no carry zone, Virgina T no carry zone, Theater in Colorado no carry zone, all free fire zones for the BG's.

As an associate pastor in my church (Assemblies of God), I believe it is my respondsibilty to carry in church. A shepherd must protect the sheep, and be able to drive back the wolves.

I think the odds are very against me every having to use it. Saying that, I don't want to be that guy that has to carry the guilt over someone being killed in my church and I'm standing there with no way to defend my immediate family or my church family.

Yea my pastor is looking and sending guys to become security for r church...there r several of us that have r CCL but I don't think we carry in the church...we've had instance where a man blocked one of r driveways and was coming in to try and stab r pastor at the time...this was a few years back tho

Good luck getting that past a School Board. You won't.

Shoobee... Some larger churches have security teams that carry as well as evacuation plans and . I would assume some smaller ones do as well. Pastors counsel people all of the time. Some of those are not so stable. If you wanted to make a point, a church would be a big time target on any number of holidays or events. Just food for thought. Even Peter carried a sword. He was little, shall we say, type A though.

It is your God givin right...and if you don't carry everywhere you are legal...shame on you!
and if there is a dumb un-American law..shame on the one who wanted it passed...vote them out!
