Question about Utah CCW class

I was looking into the Utah non-resident CCW permit. I currently have a PA license to carry. And, from what I read, the Utah non-resident permit allows you to carry in 39 states. It says I have to get fingerprinted. Just wondering what types of things are they looking for when they fingerprint you (any particular offense, or any offense)?

thanks,
ski

The prints are run through the Utah and FBI databases to determine if you have committed any crimes or if there are outstanding warrants. They are looking for:

Proof of good character...whereas the applicant;
has not been convicted of a felony;
has not been convicted of any crime of violence;
has not been convicted of any offense involving the use of alcohol;
has not been convicted of any offenses involving the unlawful use of narcotics or other controlled substances;
has not been convicted of any offenses involving moral turpitude;
has not been convicted of any offense involving domestic violence;
has not been adjudicated by a court of a state or of the United States as mentally incompetent, unless the adjudication has been withdrawn or reversed
*A criminal background check is conducted for all applicants.

20 years ago, when I was a freshman in college, I had a street sign in my dorm room. The Campus security made a big deal about it and called the sheriff. I plead guilty to a petit larceny charge. Will this disqualify me? Will I need to disclose this? I'm guessing so since its an FBI check.

If in doubt, my UT instructor recommended that you be straight up with them. They'll either find out anyway or it won't matter. Make sure to define however, whatever a "petit larceny charge" is though.... :)
