Question: .357 and .38 caliber

Interestingly, you apparently can shoot .40 S&W out of a 10mm as well. Just need to make sure to clean the chamber. It's the same parent case concept.

OMG! So much fail in that video it is incredible.

The 357 was developed as a more powerful load based on the 38. The extra 10th of an inch in case length is to prevent the longer higher powered round in the 38. Now, the 38 and 357 headspace on the rim, so it is the rim that limits the cartridges movement into the chamber.

The 40sw and 10mm are a completely different story. The 10mm came first and the 40sw is a shortened lower powered version. They never were intended to be interchangeable like the 38/357. The 10 and the 40 headspace on the rim of the case. The shorter 40 Ida nor long enough to fit the 10mm chamber. It's a 9 foot bridge for a 10 foot ditch. The only reason the imbicil in the video is able to get this to work is that the extractor catches the rim of the 40 and can holds it against the breach face.

The imbicil is right, you can fire a 40 in a 10mm, your can also check to see if you're gun is loaded by looking down the barrel. Both things make you potential Darwin award recepients.

You are correct. As I said, you apparently can shoot .40 S&W out of a 10mm, but I don't think it's a good idea. I always was under the impression that the firing pin would push the cartridge just into the barrel, but apparently not. I certainly would recommend getting a conversion barrel instead. Here is another one of those videos, firing a .380 ACP out of a 9mm, a 9mm out of a .40 S&W, and a .223 !!! out of a .40 S&W:

Just because you can do it, doesn't mean you should.

Interesting you said that I have a glock 27 and 23 and I was thinking about getting a 10 mm barrel for ok be they say I can shoot .357 Sig out of them using g same magazines still keep g my taurus shooting tomorrow afternoon first time since got b it back see what happens

I am not sure what you are trying to accomplish. I wouldn't shoot a .357 Sig out of a .40 S&W or 10mm barrel. I guess you could, but the bullet is smaller than the barrel. This wouldn't make much sense. I wouldn't get a 10mm barrel for a gun chambered in .40 S&W either, unless the gun was specifically designed for that. The Glock 27 and 23 are not designed to shoot 10mm.

Edit: If you are thinking of getting a 10mm Glock (20 or 29), then you can buy conversion barrels from Lone Wolf for a number of other cartridges, such as .40 S&W and .357 Sig, and use the stock 10mm Glock magazines. The video, I posted, is for entertainment purposes only. The 10mm and .40 S&W have the same bullet, but different case lengths. That means a .40 S&W bullet will engage the rifling of a 10mm barrel. It is still not a good idea to do that on a regular basis.

Sorry I meant I am thinking of getting the .357 Sig barrel for my 27 or 23
