Pretty good youtube video I think

This guy has some insight into why some businesses post no carry signs that I hadn't considered before. Also smoe insight (whether correct or not, I don't know) into who pushes for helmet laws, carry laws, and the like.

Worth a watch.

Agree with most of it but... Right wing insurance companies? :sarcastic:

Here in Iowa, the big problem comes from anti-second amendment law enforcement. After "shall issue" was passed, many Sheriffs and Police Chiefs started "NO FIREARMS ALLOWED" campaigns going as far as providing the signs for the businesses.

The guy in the video might have that problem in his state, but to claim that's what is going on all over the country is just plain false. It has little to nothing to do with insurance companies around here.

Wow. Iowa is just about the last place I'd ever dream of something like that happening.
I thought Iowa was mostly down home farm folks?

Although thinking about it, folks like that aren't generally driven to careers in politics which is probably the problem. Totally speculating here.

The time of "down home farm folks" is pretty much gone. Most of the farming here is corporate and has been for a long time. Iowa today is much like Wisconsin and or Minnesota. Even though Iowa doesn't have any large metropolitan areas, the few larger more populated areas we do have, have the same problems. They are high crime, anti-gun, socialist agenda driven liberal infestations that tries to bully the rest of the state into submission much like Illinois.

While I would agree that Iowa is still mostly populated with "down home folks", it is still much like any other state in the country. It's public school systems are still little more than Progressive Liberal indoctrination centers. The local television and print media are propaganda outlets as well. Last but not least, we actually get the national mainstream news (believe it or not) and many people sucker for it hook, line, and sinker.

Some law enforcement, certainly not all, but some of them along with the media are currently engaged in a propaganda war railing against the second amendment. The sad thing is, that because the "good, down home folks" of Iowa tend to be so trusting, many of them tend to be easily misinformed. We aren't South Dakota, but we still have our fair share of "sheep" around here.
