ME THREE!!! I'll GLADLY join that relaxing evening, and I'll even bring the cigars for those that would like one as well.

dangerous nuts can be anywhere a public restroom in a park or a city bus or in a parking lot in broad daylight too.............anywhere
but the most dangerous place i've had to go is back to my old hometown -detroit
i don't think i'd want to go back there without carrying although i didn't have a permit last year when i went but i stayed with family and never went out alone or at night

To Eagleeyes. I have a daughter with her husband and two grandbabies that just moved to Livonia Mich. about 6 months ago. That area seems like its not too bad of a area. Her and i went to run a errand one day and next thing i knew we were in Detroit. Her and i was surprised that the downtown area is not too far away from where she lives. I know there is some decent areas around Detroit but i told her to really be careful everywhere. They were living near Columbus Oh. and he got a promotion from his company and really wanted to relocate. My daughter did a lot of research on Livonia and it is supposed to be a very nice place to raise a family and the area schools are also are listed as a good educational place for the kids to go. And when my wife and i go to visit i always carry in the car and when i get there i keep them in a closet up on a shelf because she is very worried about the girls finding them. (ages 2 and 4) My daughter told me that she had to go downtown Detroit one day and she couldn't believe all the "burned out" structure's she saw. I saw that you mentioned that you used to live in Detroit and i was just wanting to see if you knew anything about the Livonia area. Thank you

I personally believe that the most dangerous place I can be is the publically declared "Gun-Free Zones". Any place with a sign posted that says no guns. This is where the dirtbags will go because they know law-abiding CCW holders will not carry and they will most likely not be receiving return fire when they go on their rampage.

I have started asking the managers and owners of places with no gun signs posted if they post the same sign in their front yard. I love the look of total confusion when they begin to realize exactly what that sign means. When you force them to consider their personal life rather than their business life, things become a bit more clrae.

I like that! We don't see many signs but I like that idea.

Thanks Charles just got back from printer friend of mine (he carries) we are printing up 200 stickers to carry and stick on any place with a no gun sign.

I voted for 'other', we need to carry everywhere we can, even at home. I fear the posted and legal 'No Gun Zones' because we have no choice for self defense with our firearms.

The assault can happen anywhere though. Be observant of your your surroundings (yellow) and carry yourself with confidence and the BG will generally look for easier pickings instead of pestering a grumpy old fart like me. We live in a comfortable neighborhood but when traveling several times my wife has asked if I was CCW because of funny looks coming from possible unsavories looking us over. She was originally not sure of the need for me to carry but changed her mind in short order after one of those non incidents. In fact I actually got her interested enough to obtain her permit even though she doesn't carry often.

My firearm gets installed in the AM when dressing and put on the night stand at bedtime, I am generally armed 24/7 except for the legal no carry areas,. If I need it I want it there.

Generally all the places described are not safe at all but according to me the most dangerous one is the convenience store because there is the chance of happening more assaults.

I chose at home while sleeping, because if you're a heavy sleeper like me, that is when you are most vulnerable.

Except for my local rural convience/gas stores, which I know VERY well and could spot something "off" in a heartbeat, I never stop for gas or "supplies" at any of them. I travel a LOT across the country, usually with at least 2 of my 4 kids with me. I ALWAYS choose to stop at the big truck stops for gas and I do not feel concerned about my safety or my kids at any time of day or night at these stations. There are always a lot of guys around and most of them are carrying, too. Truck stops, the anti gun free zone, LOL.

It helps that I have two uncles who are truck drivers and know how to talk to the guys and visit with them on my CB as I travel. They LOVE to be honorary "Uncles" as I travel with the kids. Some of them even know my family from the road. We live in the middle of the country and some of these guys that know my uncles live from Florida to New Mexico. It really is a small world, and a much safer/friendlier one when you can make friends where ever you are.

Wal-Mart Parking lot. If you park more than 5 spaces from the store their security cameras will not show any altercations.
With the parking areas so large, there are many places for bad guys to hide and get away without being seen.
