The MOST dangerous place to be is your current location. You will never get in trouble somewhere you are not. No one has a crystal ball, trouble can find you wherever you are.

Bingo! There is no place on earth where the risk is zero. The real danger is letting our guard down when we are normally in a place where the risk is low. It is easy to get complacent.

There was a man who was visiting our town and deceided to go out for a walk. It was raining just alittle so he took an umbrella with him. As he walked he found himself in the nicest neighborhoods of our city. Unknown to him a young man was watching out his window of his parents home and said to himself I think I will kill the next person that walk past my house. As the visitor walked by the young man pulled out his pocket knife opened it and walked outside to attack the visitor. Durring the fight the visitor had his throat cut and received multiple stab wounds the blade broke off in him and stopped the assault. The visitor died on the front porch of an upscale home and the police followed blood to the suspects home and made the arrest. Anywhere can be trouble!

One never can tell when or where they could get attacked, my only hope is if some BG ever does get to me, is that I have the opportunity to take the SOB with me

The most dangerous place you can be? Crime can happen anywhere, including your home. I live in condition yellow always. I'm a little more at ease where I live now being a secure building, but there's still windows. I go into a sort of hyper-yellow condition as soon as I leave the door, taking in information around me and constantly going from yellow to orange and back the entire day. I used to make a game out of driving down the road remembering every single license plate and descriptions of people and cars I saw; now it's second nature.

I think a lot of it comes from being a correction officer where I had 2-3 seconds to memorize the entire contents of a cell on rounds, paying attention to EVERYTHING in the room, and furthered from being a deputy sheriff where not paying attention to your surroundings could easily land you in a pine box.

Of of those choices? Number one is convenience store, followed by bars, other, and home sleeping\bank would be tied for last depending on where you live.

I picked "OTHER" just because I figure anywhere I end up on the wrong end of the muzzle is a bad place to be. I carry EVERYWHERE I go (my doctor looked at me kind of odd today as a mater of fact...) unless Federal law prohibits, and do everything I can to be as aware as possible, but you just never know.......

As stated early on anytime I leave home condition yellow, also pack at home, the BG's have cars, after attacks in gun free zones will let the sheep believe the BS about no guns equal their safety.

I voted convenience store. Just last night 3 twenty somethings had my daughter and I looking very carefully at our options of passage. Condition yellow is how we live today. No going back to the way it was at the Grandparents place, we can thank the libs for that!

My mom would say "Nothing good happens after midnight" and she was right.

This thread has shown one thing for sure, there is never a truly safe place to be, yes you can insulate yourself, and be a hermit in your own home/fortress, depending on your level of paranoia, only thing we can do to minimize trouble is to be 110% aware of your suroundings, always, and I meen always be armed, and when avoidable don't put yourself in harms way

I am surprised there are 14 out of 112 respondents who fear sleeping at home.

All you need to do is lock and barracade the doors and windows, and sleep with your 45ACP under your pillow.

That's what I routinely do, and I feel fine when I sleep at night.

There is no reason ever to go to a convenience store, and those rare times I have gone for milk or soda pop, I always check first to see who else is already in there. Usually I am the only one at the time. So I find that choice a bit odd also. Convenience stores do get robbed a lot, but normally by robbers who wait until it is clear.

When banks get robbed, it is always a close personal encounter between the robber and the teller, and no one else ever knows. Unless you are watching the movies, like Bonnie And Clyde.

So it really always does depend on your own level of paranoia as to what you might choose in a poll like this one.

Yes, the caucasian 15 to 25 year old schizophrenic psychopath can strike anywhere. Most recently has been Aurora Colorado and Tucson Ariz. A movie theatre and a supermarket parking lot.

Maybe it's the .45 under the pillow that makes people feel unsafe in bed. :crazy_pilot:
