I am in condition yellow everywhere out of my secured home, dogs, alarm, camera etc. Of your choices, corner store, gas station.

dangerous nuts can be anywhere a public restroom in a park or a city bus or in a parking lot in broad daylight too.............anywhere
but the most dangerous place i've had to go is back to my old hometown -detroit
i don't think i'd want to go back there without carrying although i didn't have a permit last year when i went but i stayed with family and never went out alone or at night

thank you. ive had several altercations in convenience store/ gas stations. had one with a guy who was waiting for me to exit the store. i was not armed .
but the store securuty took care of him. thats when i decided to get a gun and a permit. ps. never been to detroit and never will. memphis tn. was bad enough

Hey, everyone...I put convenience store, but it could be different in various areas. For instance, I would expect more trouble at the Motel 6 in Waukegan than I would at the Mobil station in my hometown.

Having said that - as one poster already said - I am in condition yellow most of the time I'm awake.

Now if the question was "when do you feel the most helpless," I would have said when I'm asleep!

thank you. ive had several altercations in convenience store/ gas stations.

If the common factor in all these altercations was you, I suggest taking a close look at your behavior

That said, the most dangerous place on the face of this planet is between my wife and chocolate

I would say bars, overall, including knifings and fist fights.

Convenience stores would be in the top 2 for the clerk, because he/she is always there. Whereas for you or me our infrequent visits lower the probabilities to unlikely.

Back this last New Years Eve I brought a bunch of snacks to our local bar for a midnight party, as did many others. One person there was however trying to pick a fight with me. He was so drunk he could hardly speak, and he was wearing tennis shoes. I was stone cold sober and was wearing motorcycle boots and was armed.

He would not have stood a chance. First I would have crushed his toes then I would have slit his you know what.

But I let it go, and eventually he shut up.

So, bars. Definitely.

For me it would be driving in the richest part of town.. I've almost been killed a few times by soccer moms in range rovers talking on the phone and running red lights..

Anywhere that I am focused intently on something instead of my surroundings. Trying to stay in condition yellow is impossible to do 100%. At work a couple weeks ago just busy working and focused on the task at hand a fight broke out between 2 guys and I didn't even notice till it was broken up. I consider myself almost obsessed with awareness but a distraction came then Im in a dangerous possible scenario. Stay alert...

I chose a bar. I would be unarmedj in one as it is illegal. Even though I train martial arts Alcohol + Testosterone and Alpha Males is a bad mix. Plus guy might have drunk friends or be armed and stupid. Bad all the way around!

Hanging on my chinny-chin chin trying to take an aerial photograph of the Mississippi down below...next time I'll choose a pilot I can trust...

I voted for the store. At home, I have some layers of defense, as well as more firepower at my disposal. A store or gas station is the most likely to have bad guys looking for a random or planned opportunity, especially at late night hours.

EVERYWHERE in the City of Omaha

WHAT?!? :) i live in omaha (millard), only time i've ever felt worried was north of downtown omaha (say west/north of carter lake), sadly a poor run-down african american community.

anywho, i always get an uneasy feeling when i'm in a bank for some reason. something about the big safe doors that they seem to always want to flaunt there. that and i've always associated banks with crooks, on both sides of the tellers.

been to detroit in early 2000's, didn't see anything that would scare me, but i'm assuming a lot has changed since then.

I am a high school teacher and I am not legally able to have myself protected in the school or even on school grounds. I'm not even legally allowed to keep my firearm locked in my vehicle. In 13 years of teaching, I have been through 4 school shootings that have resulted in 5 deaths. I have seen countless fights (both genders involved and quite frankly the girls are the most dangerous).

The most dangerous place for me is where I work. I am not allowed to "touch" the students to break them up without fear of legal reprisals. And, when dealing with a minor, the minor is always right until you prove your innocence. Not to mention, if some whacko does bring a firearm to the school, I am defenseless. At least in a convenience store or gas station, I have a chance to defend myself.
