Politicians and gun ownership

as politicians routinely have access to the president and other high office holders I think any politicians who owns a weapon regardless of type etc as long guns can be cut down, should have to list them for public knowledge for as long as they remain in office.
if all they claim are their reasons for registration etc. then this should make perfect sense to them.
