It's bad enough that a 10 over speeding ticket sets you back a couple hundred with all the bogus attached fees but the abuse of the forfeiture laws really scrapes my nerves. What if you are driving along and get pulled over for a slight increase over the posted speed limit and although you are not under the influence und sie paperverk is in order you harbor a friend who inadvertently forgets to tell you that he/she has upon them a joint or two of which the offending occifer eyes up. Now your car gets impounded and sold under the forfeiture law and ain't diddly you can do about it. Well that law almost got passed in NY of all places and NY being such a fair, balanced and low in political corruption state wised up and vetoed the legislation thanks to all the Orange County voters that caught whiff of this heinous act to steal ones property for profit.
