The kid was lucky and obviously aware of it. I'm not sure what the moaning and groaning was all about, though.

Personally my first thought, when I listened to the soldier whining like a baby, was that this was a setup; who BTWis doing the video?--certainly is not from a police officer cam camera--even the police officer questions all this whining. The officer was wrong--he was not controlling anything and was not touched or attacked by the soldier. He definitely needs to be reminded of what is right and what is wrong when dealing with someone who wants to provoke you, particularly when a video camera is involved, which smells of a "setup". If the soldier had not been slapped and had continued being a smart ass, which is what he was, and continued to ignore the officer's commands, he should have been cuffed with the threat that he will be arrested for ignoring the officer and not allowing the officer to conduct his investigation of a possible felony. If he resists, then the officer can up the ante on force, as far as I am concerned.

That whole thing was mighty strange.
I understand a police officer has to get control of the scene immediately upon arriving. But the officer snapped, went from zero to 100 instantly. 'Course, we don't know where or what he just came from - this could have been the end of a real bad day, who knows.
I could see him shoving the kid back, and if he postured again, the two cops cuff him and then give him the speech.
(PS - did that kid need a shot to the puss? Oh yeah. Just don't need a police officer losing his cool that fast)
And then the cop spent the rest of the video trying to look like he was in control of himself.
Kid was in a wrong mind, cop was in a wrong mind, and they ran into each other.

The kid was being a butt head but that does not give the cop the right to assault him.A badge does not give him that power. This is a problem with some police men that think they are above the law. He needs to lose his job and his certification and his partner should be reprimanded.

I don't think it was so much of a slap but more of a throat takedown. That's why he was having issues breathing properly while he was down.

Side Note: If you want to act like a self important soldier don't cry like a little girl when a Marine takes you down.

I might be wrong but I don't think so. I never saw a slap by the Officer. All I saw was the punk kid step into the Officers comfort zone and then he was on the ground. I would have done the same thing. And yes I was a LEO and a former Marine.

Now that I watched it again, this looks like a two part LEO training video. The scene posted is of what not to do, the missing second part is what should have happen.

I'm not a LEO, or play one on TV, but I have watched a training video or two in my life.
