Don't put yourself into a situation like that. Chicago? St Louis? late at night? Walking alone? You're ASKING to become a victim and may as well be wearing a freakin' neon sign that says "ATTACK ME!".
 
Just as a side note. As soon as you made this racial it invalidated anything else you said. Racist pricks help no one. That being said, it scares me to look at the younger generation these days. Lack of parenting and the growing trend of parents not giving their children discipline for fear of someone calling the police on them is terrifying. Kids left to raise themselves and each other are growing up to be almost feral these days. Makes you wonder what's next.
 
To the one who complain about my post being racist oriented, I have kept quiet for a little while now because I do not want to go down to the level you wanted to drag me or my post down. You know who you are. Though I had put you on my ignore list, when I receive an email I go to the source without having to log in and still see your post. That post was sent to me via email and I had pasted it here without any deletion whatsoever. If you must know, the guy who sent me that email is a black-skinned guy who calls himself an American, not an African-American. He is a very well-known and respected fighter pilot who had done so much for this country in his time. It would have been nice to show this thread to him but now I feel so much shame for your comment. Please do me a favour -- just go away and pick your nose somewhere else.

Everyone seems to be mentioning major cities. Take a small review. Approximately five (5) years ago, this very thing happened to a young man, approx. age 21, in Columbia, MO. In the entrance area of a well lit parking garage. Fortunately, video captured the incident and the authorities were able to catch the "youths."

My notes:
Smaller relatively affluent community. Not the side streets of St. Louis, Chicago, LA, etc.
Well Lit entrance
Youths - A couple of which were over the age of 18.
It was not a robbery. For the "youths" it is a "game."
No prior confrontation, etc. Surprise attack.
The video indicated that they were not all standing around. It was more like one "slipped up" and hit the guy. Then the rest came out of the woodwork.

Take aways for me:
1. Be vigilant, ever so vigilant when out.
2. "So far" these attacks have NOT happened during the daylight.? - How long until this changes?
3. Lighting and cameras mean nothing because "they" don't care.
4. Everyone you meet is a possible threat. Treat them as such until they have proven otherwise.
There are a couple of more thoughts I will leave unspoken.
You decide what you are going to do.

I am aware that blacks represent a disportionate number of prisoners in the legal system but unless something has changed most crime is black on black. I do know thta the number one killer of young black males is... young black males.

SO why do "white folks" need to be on the look out again?
 
Ever lived in the inner city?

A lot of our older citizens bought or build homes in these area's years ago. The area has deteriorated over the years, and these senior citizens are trapped. No one wants to buy these homes, and they cannot afford to move.

When they first bought or built, these were the places to live (like the burbs today). This segment of our population is being victimized faster than any other group of our population.

So, how is that statement race related? If older citizens are being victimize why should white folks start carrying a gun?

Apparently Tucker's Mom will never read this but I'm going to respond anyway.

I didn't complain that the OP was "racist in nature" I asked, very specifically, why race was made an issue in the OP. I’m sorry but a line like “White folks had better start carrying a gun” is offensive to me. More so when the story makes it apparent that race is not a deciding factor in who gets attacked; I suppose Viet Namese folks better start carrying a gun too.
Appealing to the fact that the person that sent the original Email was African doesn’t change the fact that the opening line implies that the crimes are by blacks against whites even if the story doesn’t bear that out.
I have a right to my opinion and the right to state my opinion w/in the guidelines of the forum and my opinion is that the line about “white folks’ needing a gun was gratuitous, racist and unnecessary

As stated several of these folks are trapped. The inner-city kids have no respect for anyone!

Here are a couple of questions for you.

1. Where are most of the crimes committed?
2. What race commits most of the crimes?
3. What is the largest population in prisons?
4. What age group make up the biggest portion of prison population.
5. Why do you feel the use of the term "Whites" offends you?
6. Would you feel safe walking in Harlem at 9pm?

If you are white and live in the inner city and don't own a gun your are too old to know better or just ignorant!

You can play the race card all you want but the facts are facts...

I'm sure the post was not intended to offend your liberal politically correct mentality.

Again, I fail to see that race has anything at all to do w/ this topic. The topic is keeping your situational awareness up, not looking like a victim and being prepared to defend your self against a sudden and unprovoked attack.
 
Treo, it's liberals like you that look for reasons to be offended that creates these politically correct reactions. We can't just be Americans, we have to be color coded. We can't put criminals behind bars, we have to understand what made them a criminal. If you don't want a baby to mess up your life just rip it out and toss it in the trash, it's just a lump of tissue. I could go on but what's the point. You would just be more offended.
 
I've been watching Troll Treo's post's for a while now and I am of the opinion he is just a kid who can't push himself away from his computer to get out and experience life.

I've never seen a single constructive post come from his desk and all his opinions are the same as you can read elswhere on the INTERNET, where everything is real.

I wish I could put him on ignore but sometimes he helps break the monotony of some of the know-it-all's who rally around him at times.

I'd like to describe the picture of have drawn in my mind of him but I'm afraid I would be accused of Political Incorrectness, and ya'll know how I like to keep the PC line. :)

I find it very interesting that not a one of my "fans" in this thread has offered a reasoned response as to why my position is wrong but resort to personal attacks. In most debates it's assumed that the first person that starts throwing insults lost the debate.

As to the topic, situational awareness is always key. Not looking like a victim goes a long way too.
 
In another thread, Treo named his fictional thugs "Tyronne" and "Enrique". Looks like he too is perfectly capable of injecting race and/or ethnicity into a discussion where none was before.
