Pocket pistol recommendations.

I'm looking at getting a light pocket pistol for those summer occasions that warrant one. Without exposing what I've already looked at I'd like to get your opinions and recommendations. I appreciate your comments.

You'll probably find quite a few threads on this topic. Personally I really like the Ruger LCP. Very accurate, reliable, exceptionally easy to conceal, and easy to shoot (with a little practice). The magazines are nice and thin so you can toss an extra in your back pocket or into your other front pocket.

It fits nicely in a pocket (always with a holster though!) but I tend to carry it AIWB just because I find that to be more comfortable and don't like carrying much in my pockets.

I've recently become a .380 junkie what with the new self-defense ammo. Put one through 2 layers of thick leather and 3/4" plywood and it never slowed down.

My collection so far includes a Sig P238, a Glock 42 (even though I was "Glock Free" for a while - couldn't not buy it), and last weekend added a Colt Mustang Pocketlite all are .380s. They all shoot dead on at 20 feet on the combat range. They all have had only one early glitch...the Golck 42 throws brass in my face just like the Glock 26 I had to fix so it wouldn't do that. This time, instead of gunsmithing I just roll the gun over to the right 45 degrees gangster style.

The other two just had failure to feed one time about 50 rounds in.

All have gentle recoil and I'm an old geezer. All are easy to stash.

Also have a Sig 938 in 9mm which isn't but a hair larger than the .380 P238.

Have two North American .22 revolvers...one Long Rifle and one .22 Magnum....they hide anywhere easily.

If Beretta ever follows up their Pico advertising with an actual product I may buy one of those too.

Top to bottom: Colt Mustang, Sig P238, Glock 42

Best thing for you to do is get to a range that rents and shoot as many different 380s as you can, there is a lot of variables as to how much you want to spend, and if this is going to be open or conceaded carry, just one thing to keep in mind the small lighter 380s LCP, TCP, Keltec, all have a good sting when fired, the heavyer stuff does not, at least not as much, my wife and I carry TCPs as bugs, and really like them, but for range work the Bersa is much more user friendly,

You will probably receive nearly as many opinions about this as there are people who read it. Best thing to do is find some place which will rent you several different ones and try them out. See which you like best. What I like may be exactly what you want, but it also may be a long ways from what you want. Nobody can tell that but you. Read about them, and try them out.

I agree you should try before you buy, I would try a hammerless 38 S&W it has a little more power than a 380 and is just as easy to conceal. Have fun and be safe.
