Pocket Pistol choice?

I'm planning on getting a pocket pistol. Deciding whether to get a Beretta Bobcat .22LR or a Kel Tec P-32 .32 acp?
At close range either can do some damage. 2 or 3 qwick shots of .22lr in center mass or the head will put a hurting on you.
But of course so will 1 or 2 rounds of .32 acp.

Anyone have either of these guns and recommend them?

Pocket pistol
Have you see or considered the double tap. http://www.doubletapdefense.com/
I personally will be getting one when they come out with the 410/45colt version
Yes it will be hard to hold and yes it will kick like a mule but it's not a target pistol it's an emergency tool.

I am fond of the Walther PK380 and now as of today the Taurus Model 85 .38spl

They both fit nicely in the pocket and shoot really well.

I have the P32 and carry it almost every day. Mine needs hot ammo. I use Fiocchi FMJ. Accurate for a tiny pistol with basically no sights.

My bare minimum choice? The NAA .22lr mini, I love it. It goes everywhere with me... even in my gym shorts.

Considered the Bobcat and the Taurus PT22 (very similar) as pocket pistols, but decided that the Taurus 738 TCP in .380 would be a better choice, as it is just about the same size (4.9" for the Bobcat, 5.3" for the Taurus PT22 and 5.3" for the Taurus 738), larger caliber, and around $90 cheaper than the Beretta. The PT22 is around the same price as the 738, but the dealer talked me out of it, said they get a lot of them back for problems, almost never get any 738s back.

I personally love my little Beretta and have had no problems as a pocket gun. It's light enough that I can keep it there and don't have to pull up my pants constantly.
I'm not sure how soon you're going to be making your purchase, but I recently saw an article and took a look at Beretta's website for their new Pico 380. It's very light (comparable to or maybe an ounce or so heavier than the bobcat) and they claim the slimmest 380. Concealment and comfort will likely be there. I guess it's supposed to come out this fall, plus the price point will likely compete with the LCP.

I carry a Bersa Thunder .380 IWB a lot and really like the gun, shoot it well. But I feel the .380 in a pocket size is too snappy on recoil.
That is why I want either a .22lr or a .32 acp so I can get 2 or 3 shots off easy and fast.

If it should be necessary for me to shoot someone, it goes without saying that I am in a situation where my life is in danger. In such a situation the 9mm is my minimum. Therefore I chose my S&W 9mm Shield.

If you're looking at the P32, go to the P3AT. There's no reason not to.

You should never use FMJ for self defense.

How about the Kel-Tec P3AT or the LCP? They are about the same size as the P32, but a much better round. I carry my P3AT daily and it has been reliable at the range. It's been about 6 or so years now that I started carrying it. It's the only thing I can carry in business casual...

actually, in .32, cause it's semi rimmed, you get malfunctions with jhp's. and the jhp's don't expand at 380 type speeds. they MIGHT (in flesh, jello doesn't matter) at European .32 speeds. European ammo companies don't fear lawsuits over "too hot" ammo, as US makers do.

Also, the keltec .32 is rare, in that it has a locked breech. I suspect, but dunno, that you could turn down the rims a bit in a lathe, and the rds would still headspace just fine, on the case mouths. If you are careful, you can pull the silvertip bullets and reload the ammo, with no one the wiser. :-) .32 aluminum jacketed,WW bullets, 60 grs, and hot-load them in the keltec, to about 1200 fps and 200 ft lbs and real expansion in flesh. Beats 150 ft lbs and no expansion, with factory 380's.

I think that if you actually try IWB at the navel, in a (much stiffer than commercial) and properly padded bellyband, you can comfortably and completely conceal any of the pocket 9's, while in "business casual" clothing, and have 400 ft lbs per shot, not 80. :-)

It's not a .22 or .32 but I love my S & W 642 Airweight .38. It's accurate and powerful loaded with +P ammo. My primary carry gun in hot weather.

I like the P32 and PT25 PLY, though, I don't own either... just shot a few times. My other "pocket pistol" is a Taurus TCP, I load it with FMJ or maybe some FP-FMJ... just depends on what I got. Now worries of over penetration with such a short barrel...

I pocket carry a Baretta Tomcat - it's .32 ACP. (I holster carry a CZ-70 - a Czech police sidearm from the 1970s that's also .32 - that's my favorite! With the extra magazines I also carry, that's about 30 .32 hollow point rounds that can be brought to bear if absolutely necessary!) If you look for one, be sure it's a newer one - check the right-side frame rail. Baretta had a lot of problems running .32 rounds through what was basically a .22 firearm - and that frame rail kept breaking. They've beefed up that rail - it's noticeable.

My mom (72 years old) carries a .22 Bobcat and a Bersa .380. Neither Baretta has given us ANY problems at the range a thankfully, the only place either of us have fired them! Mom likes the Baretta, because she doesn't have a lot of hand strength the rack the slide on most semi-autos - and the Cats have a tip-up barrel, which makes it easier to load and unload.

i wouldn't trade my LCP for anything. and try the hornady home defense rounds on a jug of water and check out the damage.
mine has the laser but after a while i quit using it.
light, easy to cc and i'm satisfied it will do the job if needed
