Planning a Trip to Kentucky ( I Live in Indiana)

Hi all!

I'm planning on taking a trip to Kentucky to see some family in a few days, and I've been planning on staying in town overnight.

I've already checked the reciprocity info between Kentuck and Indiana... Kentucky honors Indiana's permits.

My question is if I can carry in a hotel? I've called around and they keep saying that they do not allow firearms in their facilities, but if it isn't posted on the doors and they don't see it, I should be okay, right? If it is posted, should I just leave it in my car? I really don't feel safe doing that...

Thanks for any input,

Concealed is concealed. Once you are in your hotel room, that is your domicile for the purposes of firearms.

Welcome to the forum. They will (almost) always say it is not allowed. if they have a sign, demand your money back. Pack your car and leave explaining why.
Otherwise, go to your room. Tell no one and go about your business as normal.

I have stayed in several hotels and never even looked for a sign. Hotels are one of the main places I want to have a gun. Criminals know that if you're in a hotel, you're almost certainly from way out of town, you've probably got cash and valuables, and you don't know anyone around to help. I also stack stuff in front of the door when I can. A lamp or something that makes a pretty loud sound when knocked over is a good idea.
