Plain cloths LEO lucky he didn't get shot by motorcyclist

Cocked and locked, your entire argument seems contradictory considering your name here. You don't know what my reflexes are and your obvious unwillingness to act in the split second chance that life may give you, the opportunity to save your own life, is indicative that you would loose your life in such an encounter.

Oh and I don't wear gloves when I ride.

theicemanmpls, you really are a troll. Your immaturity is mind boggling and a waste of time for people to read, I can see why you are on so many ignore lists.

Consider this my notice that you are now on mine.
unfetteredJOHNSON,
if you are ignoring me, why did you bother to say so? Is this the act of a desperate man?

I think the point is that the officers actions could have gotten himself shot. Maybe the person on the bike would have been shot too, infact that would be likely due to the uniformed officer being right there behind the bike. But the point is that for his own safety and the safety of all others 1) the officer had no need to draw his weapon, and 2) IF he is going to draw, he damn well ought to have already announced himself as an officer and have a badge hanging from his neck.

Yup.

Enough said right there..... Thanks Tim

I'm wondering why the guy on the bike even stopped in the first place. I would NEVER stop my vehicle for anyone unless I was certain they were LEO (badge, uniform, flashing lights, etc.).

A guy with a gun out in the open like that is the last person I would stop for. Plus, how many of us would have seen that gun drawn from the guy coming out of his car without ID'ing himself as a cop, and drawn our own weapons? Likely that one or both of them would be dead or seriously injured at that point.

Either way, a cop should always have to ID him/herself WITH a badge of some sort for every stop unless it's obvious they are police (cop car, uniform, etc.). This cop put everyone, including himself, in extreme danger in every way.

ray, if you review the video again, in the last frames there is a police car, with a uniformed policeman. Chances are the perp knew both of the vehicles contained police officers. The cop pulling the pistol was doing it to protect himself. I don't think he had to ID himself, as the red lights of the patrol car had already provided the perp the general idea he was about to meet law enforcement officers.

That's a whole 'nother level of dumbassery.

You're one of the reasons the docs call us motorcycle types "organ donors"

Well, this dumbass has been riding for 40 years and never been down, so there ya go. Although I'm sure that won't satisfy you.

hmmm . . . maybe I shouldn't pack heat since I've never had iron pulled on me for over 40 years.

although I'm sure that won't satisfy you.

So, tell me some more things about your lifestyle so I can pick out what I consider to be "dumb ass", because I don't agree with it...Sheesh...Ever heard about freedom? Like, you do it your way and I'll do it mine?

And puleeze don't pull that "we all pay for it" shit either.

Are you hoping to convince me to wear a helmet or just wanting to be an internet tough guy by calling me a dumbass?

To each his own. I participate in plenty of dumbassery myself, but I wear a helmet when I do it.

as an EMT, and having seen my share of gray matter smeared along the road, I'm just lookin' out for a fellow dude. I don't doubt your skills that pay the bills, I doubt the skills of the soccer moms who are busy talking on the phone, putting on makeup, and shaving their lady parts while they are taking little Jimmy and Janey to practice in the minivan.

+1 I don't ride without a helmet, but I hate helmet laws. Putting on my seatbelt is so automatic for me that if I purposely neglect to do so, I feel strange. But I hate seatbelt laws.

I wanna hear more about shaving their lady parts while driving. I don't care about your disagreement.

Is this normal in Idaho?:sarcastic:

You naughty little (fellow) Libertarian, you. How DARE you bring the concept of personal liberty, and the personal responsibility that goes with it, into this conversation. Why, that's just not the American Way.

At least, not anymore.:cray:

Can't we all just get along.. You know - Let's all sing "We are the World" and we will all feel much closer together.. It's much easier to really get to someone if you're really close!!!

As far as I know, in Texas, police are not allowed to make traffic stops in unmarked cars. How is a citizen supposed to know if it's really a cop or not? This is why certain municipalities have so-called "stealth cruisers" where the police markings are painted the same color as the body and are not visible unless you look directly at it, but they still count as marked cars because you can tell it's an official police car.

They biker deserves a hell of a ticket for the traffic stunts, but the officer should not have drawn on him, IMO. I also have to agree with mojo. The biker was probably wearing the cam to record the stunts, not because he was planning to get pulled over.

Don't know how I missed this the first time....

Since you are unfeatheredmits lackey, I will ask you.....

Wow, Utimmer, when did you get the promotion?!? Congratulations!!!

How is the lackey field doing in this economy? I hope the raise was substantial. :sarcastic:
