Pistol packing Grandma!!

My grandma has been asking me about getting a handguns and concealed carry permit lately. So I took her to the range Sunday to let her shoot and try a few different handguns. She shot both the .38 revolvers very well and ended up going home with one of them. She is now a proud owner of a Taurus .38sp.

She seemed to have a good time and mentioned she wanted to start going every month or so. Of course I had no problem with that.

She is also talking about signing up for a Dec 3rd concealed hand gun class. So I think for Christmas I'm going to pay her permit application fee's. Feels good to know grandma can now protect herself.

Maybe next time you take her to the range, you'd should tell her to invite one or two of her friends. I'll bet there are many more like her out there. Come to think of it, I'm gonna do just that. All of us ought to be inviting folks to the range: grandmas, kids and their parents, etc. I've not been good at this, but I hereby resolve to do so.

Yep very good idea JJFlash. I'm actually going to the range again tomorrow with some Co-workers. 3 of which just got their concealed weapons permits. We have 16 people in my group 5 of which now have permits.

Now you can sleep well at night knowing that if grandma is ever in any ay accosted, whether inside or outside her home, she'll be able to protect herself.

You are to be commended, KimberPB, and I mean that seriously. If more of us did that, we might be able to "turn the tide" in the country as regards RKBA.

That is so cool. I know she will like spending time at the range with her fav. grandson. Maybe she can go to the outdoor range the next time I'm down. :pleasantry:

I'm sure she'd be up to it. I think she had a great time and has been talking about going again in a few weeks. I have a feeling I'm going to be getting some .38 dies soon so I can keep her in ammo. lol.
