Permit Turnaround times...

I sent in my packet to Baton Rouge on December 11th of last year. I realize the holiday season may slow down the processing of permit applications, but it's now the first of February. I had heard prior to sending in in that people were seeing wait times of only a couple weeks. Other than "suck it up and wait," does anyone have any suggestions?

Visiting family in Indiana and the other day was a new story about how with Obamas gun grab so many people are applying for CCW's that their normal 2-4 week process has been extended to 17+ weeks. I know my Arkansas permit was "supposed" to take around 14 to 17 days with electronic file and took like 35 or 40 days and that was before this all started.

Obama is not only the greatest gun salesman, it's also the greatest CCW reason.

wow.
here in alabama it literally takes 10 mins. and $20.

i was recently in and out in 10, with picture ccl in hand.

suppose we're lucky.

Submitted an application in NE the other day and was told 45 days, but had heard grumblings that it could be extended to 8 weeks.

We have it pretty nice here as well, online registration, schedule an appointmest for interview, go to interview leave with CCW.

Wow, looks like I'm running in the middle of the extremes so far.. I'll let y'all know when it arrives.

I love the great state of Arizona. Got my Non-Resident CCW in only 3 weeks door-to-door

Amazing! Even with all the nonsense going on

sent off my application October 10th. I was told that the app. process would take 90 days. it has been 120 days so I called and they told me that the reason why is becouse they lost my photo. wich I think is complete bs. (Kentucky) so now I have to go back to the sherriffs office so they can take my picture again. hopefully it wont be to long after that.

Oneida County NY - center of the state, taking about 1 year now to process pistol permit applications. U guys are lucky!
Ny state varies by county - each has their own qualifying rules, restrictions and issuing Judges, X 63 countys = state wide confusion.

You have to remember it starts from the time they receive it (Unless you have signature/receipt telling you when it was received) and weekends and holidays don't count. If they don't have a set amout of time (VA has 45 business days or they give you a temporary) to get it to you your at their will. Also you have to factor possible backlog. When all is said and done your at their mercy and you'll get it when they give it to you!
