permit info needed

Hi guys, I know the the info I'm looking for has to be out there somewhere or I found it and just couldn't decode it.

While I was looking for a new job I ran across this phrase: Valid guard & exposed weapons permit required. From all my searching on the web the exposed weapons permit looks like a California thing, or do we call it something else in Missouri? And the valid guard thing seems to be a city based permit, which having a valid one in one city won't do much good if this job is located else where. Or am I looking at this all wrong? BTW the job is for Kc area, figured I better toss in that tid bit of info as it might clear things up.

I know this is a heck of a first post! And given the fact that I've developed a headache just trying to figure out the job requirements I'll probably pass on this job and stick to manufacturing. But I would truly appreciate any info you guys and gals can scratch up for me. I would love to have a job outside my current range of experience and this one caught my eye because it stated CCW beneficial !

Thanks again
Rick

You are from Missouri...so am I! You see, here in the whole of Missouri, even in St. Louis, we have mixed zoned areas wherein you can open-carry and some suburbs where you cannot open carry. I know I have that list somewhere but I cannot find it anymore...must be in my gun folder...Will look for it later...

thank you, that would be interesting info to have. I'm wondering if the permit for exposed weapon was part of the requirements because maybe the home office of this company is in California??

Open Carry in MO - I have seen this list before. I have seen on another board that it was created with non-license (CWL)holders in mind. What is the O/C law for CHL holders?

Open Carry is legal in Missouri for all who can legally have a firearm. Having a Concealed Carry Endorsement does not make a difference. But, Open Carry does not have preemption. Meaning that any city or other municality can make an ordinance agaist Open Carry. This is the problem. Who has an ordinance and who does not. That is the real question.

This is an old thread but I think they wanted you to pass the KC armed security licensing. It involves fingerprinting, a background check, a written test and a live fire test at the range on Coal Mine Rd.
