'permanent' reciprocity

I am a new gun owner and I currently live in Georgia. Its very simple to get a concealed carry license in Georgia, although I have not yet done so. I just got a new job and will be moving to North Carolina. NC reciprocates GA concealed carry, however, is that permanent? NC requires classes and such to get a concealed carry license, while GA simply requires registration/fingerprinting/payment/etc. Is it advisable to get my concealed carry here in GA and just 'transfer' it to NC? Or will I be required to go thru the NC process regardless of what I do in GA? Maybe the answer is quite obvious, i just have not been able to find it and i'm new to this. Thanks!

No, you live in NC, you must do the NC thing. Just because you go to NC with your GA permit, doesn't mean you can move to NC and become a NC resident with a GA permit.

It doesn't work that way.

When you leave GA, your GA RESIDENT permit is no longer valid.

Your GA license will be good in NC but I would not say the reciprocity is permanent because they can change it any time they want. ( though very unlikely) You can't transfer your GA license to a NC license.

Once you take residency in North Carolina you'll have to comply with their CCW rules but I would venture to say you will get to keep the Georgia permit until it expires or you are able to renew it

I can't speak to your State read the law. Here statute says that I can move out of the State at any time and the permit is valid until it expires. It may not be renewed as a resident of another State. As long as you have a valid permit from a State that is recognized by the one you are in then I would guess you are in good shape. Read the statutes of both States.

GA doesn't issue to non-residents so you wont be able to renew your GA permit. NC honors ALL other state's permits...and I don't see anything specifying that a NC resident MUST use a NC permit. (Somebody point it out if I missed it)
