So A teenage NEIGHBOR cuts you off.
... For lack of something more important or intelligent to do (like calling the neighbor's parent, or the Sheriff, or simply continuing on TO WORK), you follow the teenager for FORTY MINUTES, stewing, seething, steaming, along with your (now accomplice, antagonist) wife. This shows lack of: intelligence, maturity, sense of intelligent priorities, connection to reality.
It will be as easy as falling down steps for the prosecutor to persuade the jury that you took trouble to Trouble, for the sake of TROUBLE.
The wife is an accomplice; conspiracy to, aiding, abetting criminal conduct & BATTERY of High&Aggravated nature. Not including the intentional introduction of a firearm into an aggravated situation.
The CRIMINAL (Attacker) is the driver that approaches someone else' vehicle and throws a punch into the vehicle.
The Hero is the kid that makes it around the truck in time to thwart a second punch against a pinned down victim, DEFENDING his friend/driver/brother, whatever. But it looked like the attacked driver would probably have done pretty good all by himself.
A defense for the attacker would be video recorded during the 40 minute "chase" depicting ill-behavior from the claimed offensive driver and riders toward the Attacker's vehicle. Depositions from numerous neighbors describing the teenagers residence as known spot for bad actors, disruptive parties, etc., wouldn't hurt.
I feel this dude is in for a rough time, and his & wife's attorneys will live pretty well this Summer.
The 40-minute follow might invoke other charges similar or including a charge of Stalking, Harassment, or others etc.
Of course, this is just an opinion.
YMMV
Please be mindful of how YOU act toward other drivers when your children are riding with you. THEY SEE EVERYTHING, and mimic most of it.
