Similar things have been put out before but this one is new to me. According to the government,I am classified as an extremist in everything I do. Can't win for losing!

Pentagon Classifies Evangelical Christians, Catholics as “Extremists”

The Department of Defense classified Catholics and Evangelical Christians as religious extremists similar to Al-Qaeda, according to training materials obtained by the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty.

The Pentagon also considered the Southern Poverty law Center’s “hate group” list a “reliable source” for determining extremism and labeled “Islamophobia” as a form of religious extremism.

The revelations come just days after Judicial Watch discovered a separate Pentagon training document that depicted the Founding Fathers as extremists and conservative organizations as hate groups.extreme

The Chaplain Alliance uncovered in more than 1,500 pages of documents obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request after a U.S. Army training instructor told a Reserve unit based in Pennsylvania that Catholicism, Evangelical Christianity, Al Qaeda, Hamas, Sunni Muslims, and the Ku Klux Klan were examples of extremism.

CHECK OUT THE ARMY’S LIST OF DOMESTIC HATE GROUPS

“The materials we obtained establish that the U.S. military violated its appropriate apolitical stance and engaged in a dishonorable mischaracterization of multiple faith groups,” said Ron Crews, executive director of the Chaplain Alliance, an organization that represents thousands of military chaplains.

The documents show an unknown number of equal opportunity officers were trained at Fort Jackson, SC, using information obtained from the SPLC.

The training material was made public after a soldier who attended the briefing alerted Chaplain Alliance.

“He considers himself an Evangelical Christian and did not appreciate being classified with terrorists,” Crews said. “There was a pervasive attitude in the presentation that anything associated with religion is an extremist.”

The soldier “produced the slides based on EO Leader’s Course Program of Instruction obtained from the Soldier Support Institute at Fort Jackson, South Carolina,” the document reads.

In addition to the slide presentation, the Reserve unit was also shown a video provided by the SPLC and Teaching Tolerance. The trainer told her superior officers she showed the video because it was part of the “EO Advisor course curriculum.”

Crews is calling on the Pentagon to stop relying on the Southern Poverty Law Center or any other group that considers mainline religious organizations to be extremist or terrorist groups.

“Men and women of faith who have served the military faithfully for centuries shouldn’t be likened to those who have regularly threatened the peace and security of the United States,” Crews said. “The materials we have received verify that the military views the Southern Poverty Law Center as a reliable source for Equal Opportunity briefings.”

The Pentagon did not return calls seeking comment. Last April, spokesman George Wright told Fox News the training briefing in Pennsylvania was an “isolated incident not condoned by the Department of the Army.”

“This slide was not produced by the Army and certainly does not reflect our policy or doctrine,” he said. “It was produced by an individual without anyone in the chain of command’s knowledge or permission.”

The Army said the slide was removed, the presenter apologized and they considered the matter closed.

“Mr. Wright’s response is accurate but incomplete,” Crews told Fox News. “Yes, the one offensive slide was deleted, but how many other EO officers continue to use the SPLC as a source for training materials?”

I think they're making it pretty simple actually. If you're not a democrap that kisses obama's butt, you're an extremist or terrorist. Unless you happen to be muslim, then you can't be. That would be profiling.

I wonder how my friend's sister's husband would be labeled. He's from Syria, fled for his safety for being Christian, and came to this country legally. Yikes, he's really screwed on these points: 1) Being from another country and going through legal channels to get here, how dare he?; 2) He's from Syria, do we like them now or not?? ; 3) He's a Christian, yes we don't like them either.

Poor guy, probably has to look over both shoulders at the same time.

All religions are extremists. They all have a book you must follow. If you do not obey the rules you do not go to jail though depending on where on the earth you are and the religion you may be killed you will suffer in hell for eternity. Want to believe that is all good do so. That said all churches should be TAXED and all there property as well. Show me the leader of a church who is poor? Yea see for profit just like everybody else the only difference they are selling some form of life after death instead of a tangible good on this earth. Remember L ron hubbard ( drunk, drug addict and general nut ) founded Scientology not all that long ago but it has the same status in the USA as any other religion though labeled a cult elsewhere..

Nazis got started in the same way these liberal statists are going. The patriot act is almost word for word a Hitlerian work, and you LIKE the guys who signed it. If you "think" it's ok to violate the most personal of rights (ie, sovereignty of one's own body) in the "war on drugs, or abortion, you are PART of this march to the concentration camps. btw, I am atheist. I consider any religion to be irrational, and irrational people bear watching. It's nobody else's BUSINESS what adults put int (or take out of) their own bodies! We don't issue death certs for NATURAL abortions (miscarriages) not even at the last minute before birth. So what's the big deal about "artificical miscarriage", hmm. Wth would we have done with 30 million UNWANTED kids in the past 40 years in the US? We can't properly raise 50 million that we've got NOW.

I know for fact that I'm on their so-called 'watch list'.....Why?

Because I'm a Christian, I'm a veteran, I own firearm's, I believe in the 2nd-Amendment, I'm pro-life, etc...
And because I believe that Obama, Pelosi, Clinton, Reid and the rest of their ilk are just a bunch of Fascist a$$hol#'s and I'm very outspoken about it.

I also know that my computer's, e-mail's & phone's are being monitered by the NSA.

And no, I don't need any tin foil hat's.

I think I'm screwed no matter which political party is in power... I'm a veteran who is pro-2nd Amendment, pro-choice, think the government should be smaller and fiscally responsible (what a concept!), for marriage equality, very against the "Affordable Care Act," and consider myself Christian though non-denominational as I'm not a fan of organized religion in general.

Yep, screwed! LMAO

Vote Modern Whig!

Yep, sounds like me, except I'm not a veteran. Although I'm pretty sure I'm a whole lot worse off under obama. I have some complaints when republicans are in the white house too, but I don't worry about my very existence.
There have been a lot of theories about what obama's end game is, but I think only a few people actually know for sure. I just know it's not good for most of us.

This isn't really news. Tagging entire groups of people as 'potential terrorists' based on some political or religious belief, or belief in the Constitution or the Bill of Rights - started under Bush. First it was Homeland Security doing it, then it was the FBI, not its infiltrated into military training manuals. NSA stores every communication you make - voice and emails - so they can troll your entire life for anything incriminating if you ever catch their attention. DARPA records every purchase you make that isn't in cash - but I don't know where they store that info and it's likely the NSA is grabbing it all too - and all for the same 'troll you life' reasons. What makes Christians of any ilk a threat is that we don't recognize anything greater than God Himself, so if government edicts or actions are contrary to the teachings, we might resist. We will not consider, e.g. Obama, to be more important nor to have the right to tell us what to do if it conflicts with WWJD.

That, and most of us own guns, and will be willing to use them to protect self and family against a totalitarian tyranny. Government has become a self-aware cancer - and it is opposed to and will destroy anyone who tries to criticize it or especially who resists it. Look at what they did to Randy Weaver, and at Waco, and in neither case was there ever evidence of a broken law until after those folks were under attack by federal forces. To this date, there's still no claim of any violations prior to the federal forces invading with armed goons and (if I remember correctly) in both cases starting out by killing the pets before even trying to talk to anyone. Weaver's dog was killed for barking at the trespassers, and in Waco they killed a nursing dog and her pups in a kennel.

Uh oh, I'm probably in big trouble.. I find myself in most of these categories. Except for owning those evil guns. They were all lost in a tragic kayak accident last year while chasing a moose across a swamp. I was lucky to survive, and decided that carrying all my guns in a kayak was very dangerous.
But I did buy a slingshot. Are they on the list too?

My pastor is by no means rich... he has seven children, home schools them with his wife, and they make ends meet somehow. They are a great couple with a fabulous outlook on life, and live well within their meager means. Before he became pastor at our church he did mission work for the poor in New York city. He also has created a foundation to help those who are homeless to get skills so they can start working again. The foundation has what he likes to call a 3/4 way house. It's a place to stay while they are getting their life back on track. He receives nothing from this foundation.

But great ad hominem argument. L Ron Hubbard isn't a great church leader so all of them aren't.

I don't own any guns... what guns??? NSA is my friend... Obama is doing a fine job... See, I shouldn't be on anyone's watch list.

Whom does the pastor "report" to?

It all boils down to if you believe in something more powerful and more omniscient than the state, you are an extremist. A belief in a Supreme Being weakens one's loyalty and submission to the state. Ask Lenin.

Extremist Ideologies
1.
Introduction

As noted, an ideology is a set of political beliefs about the nature of people and
society.

People who are committed to an ideology seek not only to persuade but to
recruit others to their belief. In U.S. history, there are many examples of extremist
ideologies and movements. The colonists who sought to free themselves from British
rule
and the Confederate states who sought to secede from the N
orthern states are just
two examples

It all boils down to if you believe in something more powerful and more omniscient than the state, you are an extremist. A belief in a Supreme Being weakens one's loyalty and submission to the state. Ask Lenin.

Such as the Creator who endowed us with rights inalienable from the Government??

I say this with seriousness, and get your sarcasm. But the hypocritical thought process of those who would turn this country into a socialist state is beyond me.

What fascinates me is that the limo liberals pushing all of this appear to think that they will not be affected by the "redistribution of wealth," by the nationalized medical care system (that Obamacare was designed to eventually bring in), by the demands of the great unwashed for more out of their pockets.

@pennglocker

I live in a place with a lot of limo-Libs nearby. The sad part is that since they are comfy financially they don't mind giving of their surplus cash to help the leeches. The problem is that they think we have surplus also and they use their connections to try to give that to the leeches as well.
