Pearce Grip Extension Pinch?

Is anyone else having their pinkie pinched by Pearce Grip Extensions? I recently got several for my Glock 26 and after the first time firing with them, I had 25-30 mini blood blisters on my pinkie. All 3 of them pinched me. I've tried grinding down the sharp edge that should fit flush with the grip. It's better, but still pinches.

Any suggestions on how to eliminate this? Or should I toss the Pearce Extensions and try something else?

Are they pinching you as you are firing, or when you do a mag change in between firing?

If it is during firing, I would say your grip may be loose. The reason I say this is because if your grip was tighter (especially at the pinkie) then that grip extension shouldn't be able to move to pinch you.

If it is during a mag change, then I'd say, be more careful.

When I'm firing. My grip was one of the things I've been working on, and it was pretty tight at the time. Maybe not tight enough?

I can feel the mag actually moving, pinching me, when I fire. But have taken the extensions off and reinstalled them a couple of times, changing mags, with the same result. After grinding that sharp edge off, I don't get the mini blood blisters, but it's still pinching.

I would try slight adjustments to your grip to see if this improves. If not, and you really like having these grip extensions, you may want to put a piece of moleskin on the upper edge of the extension where it meets the mag well. This will do a few things: a) it will make the edge soft, b) it will fill in the gap between the extension and the well, and c) if you still get pinched it will be against something that isn't hard.

The same thing occurred to me when I used them on my Kahr CM9 6rd. mags. After some research, the suggestion to use the extention as a "pinkie finger rest" and not an integral part of the grip itself solved my problem-no more pinches or blisters. I now grip with my first three fingers and rest the pinkie. My accuracy, especially at longer distances, is better too. Just a suggestion, hope something works for you, that pinching is a PITA.

Thanks! I'll try a adjusting my grip more. My SD instructor smacks me on the back of the head a lot when my grip gets low or loose. I'll try to concentrate on finger placement, too!

I'm getting better. I was hitting the crotch when I got serious last spring on improving my shooting. Now I'm still hitting low and left sometimes, but only 1-2" outside the center of mass target ring. My goal is 2" groups, full mag with jam and reload, rapid fire, at 7m. I figure if I can do that, with my instructor yelling at me to add pressure, I *might* hit the BGs in the torso if I ever have to shoot for real.

But I'd like to do it without a sore pinkie! :yes2:
