Turns out Sen Flynn has a CPL. Traded shots with the robber, no one was hit, both senators were able to escape and call 911. The robber and his posse were all rounded up. Link Removed

Wonder how this will effect his future votes.

He will likely say " See, we important people need the ability to arm ourselves but you peons do not." But as in typical anti-gun people with guns, he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Well actually, maybe he did hit the broad side of a building but he missed his targets.

Funny, there's absolutely no data on him or any congressman from Pennsylvania on NRA's ratings web site. So you're probably right, OK for him, but not for us.

Maybe you should check some facts before you make yourself look like an ignorant fool:

Now, while both Flynn and Bizzarro are Democrats they are Pennsylvanian Democrats (from Erie and Lackawanna respectively) and the Commonwealth may be one of the few places remaining where we have honest to goodness 2nd Amendment believing Democrats. Bizzarro received a 92% rating with the NRA and as far as I can see, freshmen legislator Flynn has not endorsed or voted for any gun control measure. The closest things would be his support for a landlords right to evict a tenant for an illegal discharge of a firearm, which to me seems reasonable.

And. just curious S&W645, have you ever had to draw your gun and fire during an armed robbery after you have had a gun pointed at point blank range at you and then at someone you were with?

When I read the OP and started thinking about his closing question, "Wonder how this will effect his future votes," my first thought is that it will likely help him get the "gun vote," as perhaps the guys were among the rare breed of Dems who genuinely support gun rights. Two of them from the same state seems a stretch, but whatever, my first instinct wasn't to slam 'em for their party affiliations, but to simply think they should get to the range and maybe some simmunitions training so they shoot better/straighter next time.

I would think it would be newsworthy if a couple of Republican politicians successfully defended themselves with guns too. I'm not sure why we're not saying this might be a good sign, rather than immediately slamming them for being anti-gun with nothing substantive to base that on. I think all politicians are anti-gun to one degree or another, certainly they're all anti-liberty in multiple and articulable ways, so if a citizen of any party successfully defends themselves with a gun, I just think cool, I'll take that as affirmation that guns are good and necessary in society and not worry about whether they're Republican or Democrat anti-liberty hacks because I already know they're anti-liberty hacks no matter which party they hail from.

I saw an interview with this guy... several rounds were exchanged and no one was hit...

Every day I'm getting more jaded. You'd be proud. The PBA called for it's annual donation. Instead of pledging money this year I told him LE are a bunch of civil rights violating asses and to go to hell.

I don't know man....after all the hard-line "law and order" stuff you've posted, if you give in to "us" now, I might just think you're a weak-kneed impressionable lemming! LOL

Just kidding. Not "proud" -- more like impressed. Anyone who can listen and learn is impressive to me. Kudos.

My eyes have been opened. It's happening too much to regular folks. There was a time when a cop was your friend.

Law of statistics said I would have been right, but I wasn't. About 80% of those who say they are Democrats support gun control.

Fortunately, no I have not had to shoot at anyone. But you can train almost to that point and learn control. Even just throwing in something such as a timer in target shooting can raise your ability to react to the adrenaline that will flow during a shooting incident. Add in moving targets coming at you in an unpredictable pattern ( non-straight line ) will also raise your skills level. And yes, I do know that an adrenaline rush can change how you work even to the point of making you physically ill. You have to learn how to control it.

Now all you have to add is the element of one or more persons shooting back at you, trying to kill you, and the potential penalty of death of you don't beat the timer and you might come close to a street situation. In addition, your simulation would have to start at a random moment and a random location during your normal daily life instead of on the gun range with the "victim" just waiting for the go signal.
