Nobody is going to answer this question, simply because +P ammo doesn't exist for .40 S&W. .40 caliber is an over-pressure round (+P) by default, which is why it seems "snappy" and also why you never see +P ammo offered for it, or guns rated to handle +P in .40, like you do .38sp, or +P+ like 9mm.

Buffalo makes a .40 S&W +P. The link below also lists some cautions about using it, especially in Glock .40 cals.

It's fine in the XD. They're built like tanks but like all guns with use of repeated higher power rounds comes accelerated wear and like the other poster mentions, there is no +p rated 40 cal ammo. It is a detuned 10mm btw. A 10mm case w/o bullet is 10 x 25mm and the 40 cal is 10 x 23mm.

Yeah I should have mentioned that BuffaloBore does make a .40 +P, and Georgia Arms makes a .40 +P+, but many agree that these are just marketing ploys, and with anything +P+, it's not a "standard" so there's no way to know exactly how over-over-pressured the round really is, which is why they often damage the firearms they are used in. I should have more clearly stated that the .40S&W has no "standardized" +P designation, like the 9mm and .45ACP, and .38 special do.
