Blue cheese and Swiss burger? Garlic,salt,pepper,onion,soy sauce and an egg, Grilled sour dough buns. Served with hand cut french fries(or sweet potato fries),homemade coleslaw. Ice cold beer or home made ice tea/sweet tea? Sound good to you? I'll over night it to you?

Is out of sight really out of mind? I keep reading people post how unsafe it is to carry a 1911 in condition 1(round in the chamber,hammer back,thumb safety on.) Yet those same people think nothing of it when they carry their DA only handguns the same way.

It leads me to believe that "Out of sight,really is out of mind!"

Would it make these people feel safer if the 1911 had it's hammer inside the frame like on their DA firearms?

Folks that don't know anything about pistols are usually the worst ones about complaining about a SA semi auto being carried hammer back and safety on. I go quite a few comments from folks that didn't know any better at the gun shop I worked at when carrying a 1911 or a Hi Power in that manner.

FN even came out with a modified version of the Hi Power called the SFS (Safety Fast Shooting) several years ago. The design was actually the brainchild of the folks over at Cylinder and Slide (C&S and Wayne Novak are the premier Hi Power smiths). To use it, you chamber a round as usual but instead of thumbing the safety on, the safety is engaged by pushing the hammer forward (the hammer goes forward and the lever goes up into the 'safe' position at the same time). When you want to shoot, you thumb the safety down like normal and the hammer pops back to the fully cocked position for firing. One of these days, I'll run across one of the SFS Hi Powers priced right to add to the collection.

While grilling is always one of my favorite past times, I am told that my vegan chili is down right awesome. I not vegan, far from it, so I also make a good clam chili, chicken chili, shrimp chili, and true to form steakhouse chili. I am still looking for a good recipie for turkey chili or lamb chili.

I usually make mine with Bison. Never tried a clam chili ... and I am originally from New England:laugh:

I am still looking for a good recipie for turkey chili or lamb chili.

for a lamb dish other than an old fashioned British Sunday joint, my thought would be to ask an Indian chef, Indian as in sub-continent, not Native-American. Where I come from (the UK) Indian restaurants are one of the most popular places to eat at, and they always do wonderful things with lamb.

I really hate when people throw children into this equation. If your child gets his hands on the gun, getting his fingers pinched is the least of your problem. You failed to secure your firearm, and failed as a parent. Now how are you going to protect your children from getting their fingers pinched by doors, drawers, folding chairs. Oh no, what will you do if a meteorite falls out of the sky? Better keep him locked up in a bubble, and away from the dangerous world.

Using children is a page out of the gun-grabbers handbook. e.g. Banning firearms 1,000 feet from a school. 99.99% of citizens with CCW permits have no intention of hurting children nor any adults. But these laws only help clear the way for the few with malicious intent. Thereby preventing honest citizens from deterring such attacks.

It would for me, but not for the reason you're thinking. I know it's not supposed to happen, but if the hammer goes forward and it goes bang and shoots my foot then I've been injured, I'll survive. My reason is my young son is at the age where he wants to get his fingers in everything. One of the last things I'd want happening when his fingers are exploring is for any of them to be between the hammer and the frame IF the hammer fell forward. We can all agree that is, in theory, impossible without outside help but I've heard my son scream in pain and I don't want it to be because of this scenario, so I switched to carrying an XDM instead of a 1911. At the end of the day they both go bang and both will make a hole in whatever you point them at. I'm not worried by carrying a gun ready to go bang, I'm just trying to avoid one particular accident until my son is old enough to know not to touch.

I carry cocked and locked 1911 and have for many years, the booger hook answer is correct, keep your finger out of trigger guard and 1911 is as safe as any gun you can name, Glock with its safety trigger is no better than a revolver, put a chimp in a room with a loaded Glock and a loaded cocked and locked 1911 on the table and I would be willing to bet he would discharge the glock before the 1911. Just opinion.

All Chili must be taste tested, by certified Chili Inspector
You are in luck there are no fee's just samples must be sent to South Florida Chili Inspection Station
1 gallon is required for tasting
Upon Approved Sampling, will allow you to ship anywhere.
So get that sample here asap! LOL
