Ottomans verses Christians-LEARN FRON HISTORY

I'm sure this will erupt into a fray of controversy, or not because most are apathetic to this growing repeat of the past. But I mentioned this because those that don't learn from the past will repeat the mistakes. Know you history, learn from what it yielded, and enable you to look into the future. The Muslim Religion (Ottomans) have been on the attack for centuries. This isn't a new advancement of control of free men and the imprisonment of the women. It's just a renewed rebirth due to a flaccid US Government response. (or possibly the aiding)
Sorry non-believers but you really need to get onboard. THIS is reality!!!

Ignorance of history is an invitation for disaster!

If you've got some time to listen; listen with an open mind...

Precisely, as I have said many many times, religion is the greatest threat to mankind's future and civilization.

Oooo I'm crushed, but actually I can easily recognize the nonsense of a fairy tale, especially when it is clearly the fears and phobias of ancient man that believed the sun was carried across the sky on a chariot.

But if all you have are insults, and it makes you feel superior in some silly way, carry on..... it merely demonstrates how desperate you are to support that which only has a fairy tale as a foundation.

The one who posts as much as ringo and opsec combined in a desperate attempt to spread atheism, trying to call out the desperation of others...hahahahaha

I have started backing off religious confrontations because the antagonists to religion have depleted their arguments against religion and have become redundant in their posts. Frankly, I see no reason for arguing because neither side will change their stance and we all wind up peeing in the wind. The future of mankind will be the same for all, we will live for a number of years and then we will die. That will not change for any of us. Religion helps those of us who believe in God live our daily lives and have the hope of a future living with God. Those who don't believe in God, well, I don't really know if they have any expectations for an existence of some sort after death but, if they are satisfied, I am tickled pink in their decision. Contrary to the thought of religion being a threat to our future and civilization, I feel it is the only vestige of hope we have left for the future. From our inception, religion has played a major role in our everyday lives and our prosperity. We became the most prosperous nation in the world and religion was very important to the entire nation. As we grew, religion started to fall by the wayside here and other countries as well. The further we get from religion, the worse our country, and the world, fare. The world has turned upside down...what was bad is now good. What was good is now bad and, contrary to arguments against the Bible, the situation proves the claims of the Bible, especially the part which states that few will find the right way. Regardless of the twists and turns of arguments about religion, I will stick with Joshua 24:15, ".....as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

To argue against the non-existent is silly, to argue against the effect that belief in the non-existent is self-defense, for it is a real threat to freedoms, safety, security and mankind's future.

As for the prosperity this country enjoyed, it is not because of religion. Our forefathers that settled this country where adventurers, with the courage to sail off into the unknown, partly to get away from the barbaric religion driven dark ages in Europe. Once here they found abundant natural resources, which were the fuel of our centuries of prosperity. What has destroyed that, greed and government.

And basically I say god doesn't exist, it is the duty of the theist to prove me wrong, but you need to bring more to the debate than the typical proof offered by the typical theist.

Frankly I don't see much difference between the fervent belief that there is a God and the fervent belief that there isn't a God. Both are valid beliefs and both can elicit strong emotional responses... and, in my not likely to be popular opinion, those who constantly argue about their belief or their lack of belief are equally annoying.

If you look at the threads where these debates rage, please note that they are always started by the theist pushing their beliefs, and if the thread was started on something totally unrelated, the turn is by the theist pushing their beliefs.

I've never started a thread professing atheism, or demeaning religion, but I will offer a different perspective when the theist open that can of invisible worms

Blah, blah, blah. You don't have to reply with your pushing your own BS of trying to irritate those who you consider opening a can of invisible worms either. You, and those who engage with you, are equally annoying because you both are trying to shout down the other with your own personal beliefs.

Yes, your own personal beliefs since your belief that there is no God is equally as fervent as those who believe that there is a God.

Believe what you want but don't try to blame the other side for your own desire to argue.

Edited to add:

Let me make myself clear. I am just as annoyed with those who take a perfectly good discussion and veer it off onto a religious tangent as I am with those who can't resist considering anything religious, or remotely religious, as an opportunity to start an argument.

But you didn't address my point, merely made yet another personal attack to defend your views. How about addressing my point, instead of trying to bury it in more of the same personal attacks?

Your point is you can't resist any opportunity to argue in favor of your own personal beliefs. In fact, you are trying to lure me into arguing with you now. And you have ignored my point that I find those who post religious posts and those who argue with those posts are equally annoying.

Want argue whether there is or isn't a God? Please do everyone a favor and start a new thread about that.

It's everyone else's fault that he has to open a thread and respond.

Hey, hey hey
I opened this thread and I find it extremely offensive that no one is addressing the FACT THAT THIS ACTUALLY happen. This was an event record in history.

One side preaches adherence to faith. The other side preaches adherence to faith but if you don't we enslave you, tax you or kill you. In that faith, NO FREE men are allowed to choose their destiny in life. They are ruled for their whole life. And the women, what part of genital mutilation and total domination don't people understand.

I really was hoping for discussion on the oppressive domination of the Ottoman Empire. But all that most has said is a Christian vs Atheist dialog.
For the none believers, the reality that what you live in is not new. Many people have sat by and watched others engage the evil since the dawn of man. Whether you agree or not, IT IS part of your world. Get over it, get involved. And if nothing else lets put down these people that behead you non-compliant , sit by the side conscientious objector . Your just as prone to enslavement or beheading as the Christian sitting next to you. And there be a whole lot of us Christians sitting next to you.

This has little do do with religion. Has more to do with human nature. Greed, power and control. Religion is the excuse to justify the act.

It's history, it's were we've come from. It is the reality of control verses free men. You idiots choose, I'm done with you.

I ask questions you cannot or will not honestly answer, a common trait of theists that know that an honest answer is counter to what they want it to be.

Why does it annoy you, you delibertly come here, and jump into the fray, no self control, or are you living in a glass house while throwing rocks? Nor will be starting any threads on the topic, as I asked you to note, none of the threads regarding the existence or not of god have been started by a non-believer, but always the most rabid of the theists.
