Oregon mall shooting and CCW holder

I was reading some comments about the Sandy Hook shooting and heard mention of this Nick Meli guy that was at the Oregon Mall shooting. Has anyone else heard about this guy? The local media site seems legit I just haven't heard a peep about it in Colorado from the big media outlets (not shocked about that).

If it is true, than this story needs to get out there. A friend of mine was taking classes with an Aurora policeman who was involved in the theater shooting. He said that most of these sick mass murderers will either surrender or kill themselves when 1st confronted with resistance, which would make sense of what Mr. Meli is reporting.

The story is true. You won't see the main stream media make a big deal of it. It's been talked about on NorthwestFirearms.com forums. There's also a thread on this forum about it.

Saw the guys interview said he pulled his glock on the guy who had killed two shoppers. CC guy said there were too many people around and he was concerned about hitting one. Said he had tunnel vision. Said the next shot he heard was the bad guy killing himself. Obviously the CC guy saved lives.

If you mean confirmation of why the gunman ran away and shot himself, that's impossible to know because he's dead and he can't tell us.

It is true. I wrote to the reporter from KKGW, Michael Benner, Newschannel 8, whose name is on the report. Here is the conversation:

Me - "I have a question. How did you come to hear about this young man who confronted the shooter? Did he call your station, or did the information come from other sources? Is it possible to verify this account using mall security camera footage?

I would like to be able to tell others about this account, but I am always leery of single-sourcing my information. Any details that you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!"

Michael - "I appreciate your concern. Nick didn't contact the station. We were tipped off to the story. In fact at first he denied our request for an interview, but then a day later he agreed. He was on the phone with dispatch during the encounter and was interviewed by detectives afterward. There's no way of obtaining surveillance footage."

At this point, that is as close to corroboration as you are going to get.
