Hi all new to the forum so sorry if this is posted in the wrong spot. I have a question about getting my concealed weapons permit. In August of 2009 I received a MIP in Douglas county,I was wondering from people in state and out of state if this is something that would get my application denied. Any one had any experience with this?

Please move this post if need be.

If it was a misdemeanor, it will disqualify you for four years.

So I don't have to have it taken off my record it just has to be four years prior to application? Thanks for the response!

See my second post. It does not appear to be a misdemeanor, so you shouldn't have to do anything with it. Your citation was nothing more than a speeding ticket would be.

Oregon's one of the best states for this. Not only are the laws better but the ability to acquire and maintain a CHL is better. FYI if anyone is looking for online training in the CHL program the Oregon State Sheriff's Association provides CHL education

Best for what? Oregon does not honor any other state's permit. Open carry without a permit is a recipe for disaster. Lastly, there is the Oregon Firearms Safety Act, i.e., "universal" background checks. Wake up!
