The debate between open carry and concealed carry is always an interesting one in the firearm community. Some people may think that open carry acts as a deterrent, while others feel it could make you a target (myself included). On the other hand, concealed carry offers the advantage of surprise, but some people in favor of open carry point out that it can potentially slow your draw time as a drawback.
Personally, I prefer concealed carry for my everyday routine. I don’t want to stick out or risk being targeted, and I’m confident in my ability to draw quickly from concealment because I practice and train regularly. I do believe open carry should absolutely be legal, and I use it in specific situations like hunting or hiking where it makes sense, for me.
What about you? Do you think one provides more peace of mind or tactical advantage over the other? How do factors like visibility, deterrence, and personal comfort play into your decision?
Let’s hear your thoughts and experiences—whether you prefer open carry, concealed carry, or a combination depending on the situation!
