Open Carry isn't a good idea.

Other than those who want to show off their hardware, I see no need to expose my handgun to the public. It's far better to let the criminals wonder who, among the crowd, might or might not be armed. Also, carrying concealed allows us to be more accepted by the public at large.

This gets done to death, people get sore butts, and tired fingers. To each his own, I don't care how you carry, as long as you do so legally, safely, and always.

Open Carry can cover you butt if your sidearm becomes exposed by say... Getting out of the car and your vest slips up... Or even if you can not see the gun but it prints a little... It protects you from committing a felony...

I don't think it really matter if you open carry or not but I do feel everyone should have the right to if they choose to with out getting harassed by the authorities or other citizens.

-sigh-

It never ceases to amaze me how some folks think CC is superior to OC because the CC'd gun that can't be seen is going to make a bad guy decide to not attack just because he doesn't know who has a gun .... never mind that a gun OC'd right out there where the bad guy can see it so he knows who has a gun and who doesn't might change the bad guys mind about attacking the obviously armed person.... maybe even leaving the OC'er alone because it is obvious he has a gun and attacking a CC'er because he looks just like all the other unarmed potential victims.

It also never ceases to amaze me how many people are afraid that they won't be "accepted" by the public, they won't "fit in", other people might look at them funny, or MY GAWD!! someone might be "offended"!!!!!

And it never ceases to amaze me how many people think that paid for and ass kissed to get infringement upon the right to bear arms "carry permit" somehow makes them so special they can magnanimously deign to tell other folks that OC is a bad thing.

Now... a personal opinion not directed at anyone individual or group of individuals...

It is my opinion that some who carry concealed suffer from delusions of grandeur thinking that because they carry a hidden gun they are now equipped to stride to the rescue like an heroic knight in shining armor and open a can of super secret magical element of surprise all over that bad guy who was so foolish as to mess with them and whup their butts into next Tuesday to the cheers and applause of all those helpless folks he saved!!! Of course, in order to maintain that delusion, it is necessary to ridicule any other forms of carry as being inferior to concealed carry's magical power of the "tactical element of surprise".

How many naked people get attacked by criminals?

I might have to redefine open carry....or just make up a new method...maybe call it tactical pants-less Commando carry
