open carry in Oklahoma

So I just found out that starting today, open carry is legal in Oklahoma, my question is....can Texas residents open carry in Oklahoma with the Texas CHL?

Open carry is open carry. Unless you're a goat roper why would you need a License? As well as what PC would the LEO have to ask for ID?

Oh and congrats for regaining some of your Rights back!

This is incorrect. In the state of Oklahoma, you must possess a concealed carry license in order to open carry. Oklahoma is also a must-inform state. Don't like it, but it is what it is for now.

Sooooo you have to be a Licensed CC to OC. HUH? Maybe ya'll do have too many Goat Ropers up in the Legislature. And where has JC Watts ever got off to? Good man that JC.

Oh and thanks for your service newokie03, nice surface warfare pin as well. What did you qual on?

Not sure what happened to J.C., he was a good one. I got my pin on a guided missile frigate (FFG-39) before they made it mandatory, made it much sweeter to have to want it than have it forced on you.

TRUE Leadership is to have your people want to excel not force them to a standard. Congrats and thanks again for your service. I served on FF-1052 back in the seventies. Had a lot of fun and grew up a whole lot. Built MK-48 ADCAPS until 87 and discharged E6 TMT-1.

As for Goat Ropers, my EX was from Poteau and always made me laugh talking about the want-to-be Cowboys ie Goat Ropers.

Well, at least in Oklahoma they don't have to obtain permission from their sheriff to purchase a handgun like in some states.....

I was a Sonar Tech, spent a LOT of time with the TM's. They even stood watch with us up in sonar control.

Touche CMDR, NC requires you to have a permission slip from the Sheriff's office to purchase a hand gun if you do not have an issued CC permit from the same Sheriff. BUT we can OC without any need for a permit. GOT Leadership?

Yep, those were the good ole days standing watch in sonar control. We had SQS26 CX as well as VDS and LAVA gear tied in with LAMPS. I'm sure by now the systems are antiquated but it was top of the line back then. AS Division was the party division but with that said we prosecuted any and all contacts with the upmost dedication and professionalism. Great group of guys those STG's!

Yes, provided you have a valid license that is recognized by Oklahoma.

I have to disagree.
Because, according to page 63 in your link, under the heading RECIPROCAL AGREEMENT AUTHORITY, it says: "Any person entering this State in possession of a firearm authorized for concealed or unconcealed carry upon the authority and license of another State is authorized to continue to carry a concealed or unconcealed firearm and license in this State; provided the license from the other state remains valid."

I assume that this means that if you have a 'concealed handgun license' from Texas, that the firearm must still be carried 'concealed' in Oklahoma.

I submit the following to verify what I have 'assumed':
21 O.S. Section 1290.26 (Effective Date of This New Law 11/1/12 as Amended by SB 1785)
A. Any person entering this state in possession of a firearm authorized for concealed carry upon the authority and license of another state is authorized to continue to carry a concealed firearm and license in this state; provided the license from the other state remains valid. The firearm must be carried fully concealed from detection and view, and upon coming in contact with any peace officer of this state, the person must disclose the fact that he or she is in possession of a concealed firearm pursuant to a valid concealed carry weapons permit or license issued in another state.
