Thanks. I've looked at this site before and have had the urge to just do the open carry thing.
MA is no longer an open carry state. Back when the Fathers of the Revolution were still wandering the landscape it was.

Most of the folks here are firearms fearful. It brings lots of unwanted attention. Not that I mind that because I have always maintained that my life is not nor ever will be, a fashion show or a popularity contest. :sarcastic:

Peace...

I live in Richmond, VA. Open Carry is a pretty big movement here. You can pretty much carry anywhere as very few are off limits. The banks are NOT off limits here and people carry into banks as a matter of routine. I had a security guard state I could not carry in the bank and I asked him why, and he gave the usual, didn't have a clue answer. I told him to go speak with the bank manager before he misrepresents the banks intentions to the banks customers. Well he went and spoke to the floor manager and than went outside to stand his post. Never said another word since that day. Good Luck and Be safe!

Understand completely. I'm not one to test those types of choppy waters either. OC has become somewhat commonplace here in Milichigan, but from the sounds of how things are in MA, I might still OC a little, but I'd probably be really selective about where. I, too, don't like standing out in a crowd like a sore thumb. Makes you feel more like a target.

Beautiful. Funny how we end up inadvertantly training security guards, associates, and even sometimes managers about their own complany's policies regarding firearms. Hey, better they know it, right? It's just funny that the consumer/customer is the one who corrects the employees. (shaking head) I had a similar instance in Best Buy. An associate approached me and asked me to conceal my gun due to a complaint from another customer. I told him that here, you don't need any license to OC and if he asks a person to conceal an OC'd gun, he could be asking them to commit a crime, as they might not be licensed for concealment. I DID happen to have a concealed license and obliged his request, but took the issue to his manager, and then on to corporate. Corporate then retrained their managers on properly dealing with OCers.

Surprisingly, to date, I haven't recieved a single comment regarding my carrying into banks. I thought for sure that by now I'd have at least gotten comments from other customers, to the effect of "Hey, can you DO that here?" or "You CAN'T carry here, it's a BANK!!" But nope, not a word. Life in OC land is good.
