Lawmaker Drops Gun At Hearing

A member of the New Hampshire House's criminal justice committee dropped a pistol on the floor of the legislative office building at a hearing on a controversial bill dealing with abortion.

Kyle Tasker, a Northwood Republican, dropped the loaded gun, one of two .45 caliber pistols he wears in shoulder holsters, as he took his seat in a crowded hearing room.

“I just gave blood and I might not have latched it quite properly. All I could think of was, it was bound to happen one of these days, I come here too often for that not to have happened.”

Based on his comment that he thinks he can draw and shoot faster than a policeman who already has his weapon out and the Representative in his sights, I'd say he should stop giving blood because he is a quart low already!

So it seems that every time I see a post linking to an article about someone doing something stupid or illegal with a gun - nogods is the one posting it.

Never with any useful critical commentary. Never anything like "Let's discuss and learn from this guy's mistake." NO VALUE ADDED. Just garbage reposted.

Perhaps he is an agent of Brady or other similar organization, trying to infiltrate from within?

Well, that's not true. Are you new here?

So you think a statement of facts is "garbage"?

Post such as these are reminders for all of us that mishaps can happen to anyone, regardless of their position or training.

We don't need to render judgment on the characters in these mishaps to learn something from their mistakes. There's plenty of time to deride the characters involved after digesting the incident. And no shortage of people on this forum willing to do so. So there's no need for me to start the post with anything other than the story itself.

Do you ever use such incidents as examples for your students? if so, let me give you a little hint - focusing their attention on your opinion of the character involved in such incidents isn't teaching them anything. It jsut distracts from the lesson that can be learned. It might help you feel almighty and good about yourself, but if your objective is to teach people to avoid such incidents then editorializing about the incident doesn't help.

Perhaps he is an agent of Brady or other similar organization, trying to infiltrate from within?

Here is another thing that doesn't help keep the focus on preventing such incidents - turning every such incident into a diatribe about the Brady bunch.

It's also a bit childish to try to malign the person posting such incidents just because they trouble you.

If I called the senator a buffoon would you have thought "Ah, he must not be a Brady Bunch plant - only a true 2A support would call a senator from New Hampshire a buffoon"?

Thanks for listening. Hope it wasn't too hard on you.

The guy talks about blowing away a cop- Idiot.
The guy carries 2 .45 caliber handguns in a shoulder holster, and cant even keep control of them- Mall Ninja with butterfingers.

His last statement told he all I needed to know about him

" I come here too often for that not to have happened."

Yea like STUPID!

Why don't you read the article again? He doesn't sate he could outdraw a stat trooper whom is already drawing down on him. He asks in a self defense situation does he have the right to shoot a trooper that has already drawn on him, supposedly if he poses no threat to the officer. Ill take the liberty of assuming what factors constitutema self defense shooting.

Whatbdo youndo if you are walking down a street minding your own business doing nothing illegalmand a cop or trooper aims his weapon at you?

You're an illiterate and delusional troll. Nothing I wrote indicates that I think he made a statement of fact contained anywhere within what he was quoted on.
