Online ammo sales

Hello everybody, my question is fairly straight forward: As of the date of this post, is the purchase of ammo online legal for the average person in CA? I know SB 53 did not pass, but were online sales of ammo already banned in California? If so, was there a court case regarding this? I'm looking for short barrel 9 mm ammo and it's hard to find locally, would like to get some online. Thanks in advance for your help.

I do not live in CA (and I won't), but AFAIK there is no state law prohibiting online ammo purchases in CA. There are several local laws and online sellers typically won't ship ammo to San Francisco, Oakland, Sacramento, and Los Angeles. It is your responsibility to figure out if your local laws prohibit online ammo purchases and/or ammo shipping.
