One of Many Reasons Why I Carry 24/7

.....Because of Punks like this. Warning, this video contains some foul language. These clowns were arrested today because they called out by name their probation officer and a MA State Trooper. Now before anyone starts talking about free speach, free speach ends when you threaten individuals by name! These punks are from New Bedford, MA and I do a ton of business in that city as part of my sales territory. I've seen their 508 Productions propoganda around here as well. Gangsta culture crap. Here's the article and video below. http://www.capecodonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20091123/NEWS11/911239979/-1/NEWS

I actually found that amusing.....

First, let me state the obvious: those guys are not very bright, and their rap skills suck.

Second, I notice that neither of the guys arrested put up the battle that they threatened the next time "da cops" came for them. These are the kind of scumbags who are only dangerous to the public at large (i.e. "sheeple"). The first time they encounter a sheep dog, it will definitely teach them a lesson, possibly a fatal one.

That said, I really do not support their arrest on charges of threatening. Saying "F*&% You!" to a probation officer and a police officer is not threatening, even if there is a *gasp* image of a gun afterward. Trust me, in my cop days I got all kinds of threats. In my experience, it was never the ones that made explicit threats that one had to worry about.

Case in point, we are right now on a forum that discusses firearms, while simultaneously considering religion, politics, law enforcement, etc. I am very, very leary of diluting our first amendment right.

I support freedom of speach. However, the combination of the image of the gun and click sound, combined with it pointed at the head of a woman (probation officer) and specifically naming the probation officer and State Trooper, was what prompted the arrest. Freedom of Speach doesn't allow us to yell fire in a crowded movie theatre....unless of course there is a fire.

Actually, it used to, and I believe still should. With the understanding afterwards, an angry crowd was going to beat you like a read headed stepchild for the trouble.

Every right has an associated responsibility, these responsibilities should be enforced by social pressure, not LEOs. When a society becomes one of legal and illegal, not right and wrong, it is doomed.

It is the destruction of our values, our responsibilites and duties, that has destroyed our society.

Now when the crowd beats the idiot, he sues them.

I am not an expert on rap. I honestly feel that these delinquets are disgusting. They honestly belong in jail. It is a shame that our law enforcement doesn't do much about it and you have to carry a gun 24/7.

You're right. And there is reason why they have a probation officer in the first place.

Well, the video has been pulled from YouTube...gee, I wonder why. But any time you mention someone specifically by name and even hint at the idea of assaulting them or killing them, that is not free speech, it is a threat.

Exactly! Now these two morons will spend Thanksgiving behind bars. I'll bet you the turkey they get won't come close to Grandma's dinner! :sarcastic:

The video has been pulled and I didn't get to see it.
However, I am more inclined to support the original intent of the Freedom of Speech clause. I think it has been severely bastardized over the years.
The same thing happened with Freedom of Religion, with people saying it means separation of church and state.

btw, I am in the Houston area, so it is wise to carry 24/7.
