One more for the good guys!

So.... just wondering.... who is going to be the first to post how irresponsible the store owner's actions were and that he almost got his employee killed? And how dare the store owner act like a cop and hold the other robber at gunpoint! Any takers?

DISCLAIMER: I am posting that or stating that as my opinion....just wondering who the first one is going to be to post it.

Seems like a good shoot. If I had been robbed that many times though, I would have a shotgun in my store. Wonder why the robber decided to shoot, and how he managed to miss. I was imagining this all unfold at very close distance. Must just be retarded.

Ok, let me put my liberal hat on and drink some kool-aid. Did the store owner take into consideration the life these two thugs had lived? Why they were probably forced to a life of crime because he was a successful business man. He should have waited for the police after all we are told they are just seconds away and are better trained to deal with this situation. "Sarcastic icon goes here"

It is nice to have a boss who can protect his own employee and I assume that he will not be discouraging his employee to bring a gun inside his store either.

Well, you got to do what you got to do.!! You don't want to be a doormat to the dregs of society! !

This is an instance where the owner of the premises used his weapon to protect his employee and himself.

It is not an instance in which a self appointed wannabe Wyatt Earp was roaming the neighborhood looking for an opportunity to play batman.

There is a big difference between those two situations.

The people who don't understand the difference are the ones that worry me and most other sane people.

Anyone who wants to be a security guard on my premises can pick up and fill out an application.

Never have come across one of those wannabe Wyatt Earp types. Ever. Kinda like Sasquatch, people claim they are out there, but nobody ever sees one.

So, in other words, let's put a customer with a gun in the back of the store instead of the boss, or a customer with a gun walks through the door and stumbles upon the same scene instead of the boss. Now all of a sudden the customer is Wyatt Earp if they take the same action?

The story states that the robber shot at the clerk before the owner took any action. That is entirely different from a customer-wannabe-security guard deciding to start a firefight because he or she has been dreaming about being an action hero.

Armed customers should protect themselves. What they shouldn't do is make security decisions for owner of the business.

I hope some day your son, daughter or wife is never a victim of a violent crime while some jerk like you stands by with a gun on their belt, being the best witness they can.

OK so adding fuel to the fire. Robbery going down, Wyatt steps in to buy something. Sees the shooting and draws to engage. OUT steps the owner to confront said BG's but now has a third person armed in his store. How could this situation end?

Does Wyatt holster his weapon?

Does Wyatt blast the BG's AND this unknown assailant that just step out from the back blazing away?

What would you do if you were Wyatt? (No offense to anyone named Wyatt, I prefer Billy-Bob)

I thought we had this all worked out already. The answer is incredibly obvious....

Another one of the "talk about a turd so long you can taste it" scenarios. I know what I think I would do in that situation, but never have been under fire in my life, didn't do any military. I just hope whatever I did that I would ultimately survive and if I protect someone else while doing so, then bravo me.

A wyatt earp/batman ( I doubt Earp knew who Batman was lol) situation happened locally a couple of years back. Robber walks in store at closing pulls knife on manager, manager pulls gun as robber opens the cash drawer, Johnny-Come-Lately walks in and decides to draw on manager. Manager thinks he is accomplice and manager and dufus shoot each other, robber escapes. at least they both survived. Not saying every situation will turn out this way but it's these guys that make us look bad. Not saying this situation is similar or reflects anyone in here. At least identify yourself some way. Funny thing is the manager had on a uniform and the guy still thought he was a robber

I think he was very effective and correct in his decision.

This is what I find hilarious...

So, customer walks in to convenience store, or appears from the back of the store to find an armed robber pointing a gun at the cashier's head demanding cash. Customer does nothing but hope to not be noticed. Robber notices the cashier looking behind him at the customer trying to hide between the chips and candy bars. Armed robber now turns and points his gun at the customer.

Now customer has a choice... does he do nothing and hope the armed robber will accept whatever is in the customer's pockets and leave without firing a shot...

or.... and this is the point that I find hilarious...

When the concealed carrying graduate of the nogods school of self defense is presented with the situation of the bad guy pointing his gun at them, because he has done nothing but look like every other potential victim and refuses to do anything until a gun is actually pointed at him (if even then)...now, if the customer desires to actually protect himself from the criminal he must sweep aside his coat and/or raise his shirt, deactivate the retention device on his holster, draw his gun, possibly deactivate the safety on the gun, aim, and fire at the criminal.... all in the fraction of the second that it would take the criminal to simply pull the trigger on his gun.

You guys that insist on waiting for the gun to actually be pointed at you to take action are betting your life that you can outdraw the criminal already aiming at you.... but you have the cahones to call people who will take action to neutralize the threat while that threat is distracted and focused on something/someone else Wyatt Earp and John Wayne?!? REALLY?

Oh...dang...I'm sorry, I forgot to yell "SURPRISE!" somewhere in there.

But, hey.... I guess anything is possible....
