Old TV Shows

I have been watching reruns of my favorite TV show of the 80's. It is Hill Street Blues. This show was on TV !981 - 1987. I loved this show because the actors, characters, the writing and how the characters interacted with each other. Now some may say by i mean how the "blue" wall and how cops protect each other. But what I got from the show is how people who serve together become brothers. I know how I feel about the guys that I served with. When we get together we still have a GREAT time! That is how I see this show.

I know we have some on this forum who hate, dislike and do not trust LEO's I do understand that! If I had my way I would NEVER have anything to do with any LEO. But if/when I do, I want it to be very short and sweet.

My reason for this thread is that the quality of programming on TV now days is in the tank. What now passes for a "show" is the so called reality shows. Which is anything but reality!

We only receive internet shows, Youtube, Netflix and Amazon prime. The rest is junk. I agree with you on this. The part about law enforcement. . . I fully support them (it is a family thing). The current shows on the TV all have a social message and attempt to steer us in the liberal left. We don't need that. Now, I like the old black and white shows, some I would bet are not know to most here. Jackie Gleason, Dragnet, Adam 12, the Gale Storm show, I married Joan. These are too old for my wife.

Dragnet, check. Adam 12, check. I would add SWAT too but my favorite was The Rockford Files! Quincy ME runs a close second.

I agree with you guys about those old shows. I do not watch any of the so called big networks in prime time. I would rather watch old movies, old TV shows or anything but what passes now for programs. I watch very few of the new shows and none of them are on the big networks. I like "Hell on Wheels" and "The Last Ship" so far but if the writers take the show into areas I do not like or the stars come out and start telling me how I am living wrong, I will stop watching them!

One old show I liked was Burns and Allen. Loved Gracie Allen. She was GREAT and very funny!!
