COLUMBUS -- Ohio's county sheriffs issued a record number of concealed handgun licenses in 2009.

The Ohio Attorney General's office said the total number of handgun licenses issued to Ohioans was 56,691, well above the previous high of 45,497 set in 2004 when the concealed handgun law first went into effect.

The lowest year was 2006, when less than 19,000 licenses were granted.

A little over 1,000 licenses were revoked or suspended statewide in 2009.

As one of those permitted in Ohio, we are taking back our towns from car jackers, muggers, and people who want an easy dollar.
