Dun dun duuuunnnn....it happened. The stupidest thing in the world just happened. I got a voicemail from my kids' head start saying that I was told not to "wear the gun" once before and now it's going to require a meeting. Lolz

Here is what literally just happened at 3:30 pm CST:

I was sitting at my dining room table reading American Handgunner and browsing through USA Carry, because I'm awesome at double tasking and my kid's bus pulls up to the front porch, opens the door and my kid bounces out babbling about chocolate and I walk to the door and open it. I have two 8 foot windows in my dining room by the table. And I never left the house, which I own and which is and is definitely on my private property. Oohhh jeez these fekkin liberals...

I think I am going to put up a sign that says all vehicles on the premises are subject to search just to aggravate them.

I think the bigger issue is that they are perverts. Only a pervert would peep on you and then complain about what you are doing.

Last time, I was OCing a .22. ( Never mind the AR-15 they didn't notice leaning against my boat lmao)
 
Looking forward to an update post meeting. lol, if you have the ability, ask to record the conversation of the meeting. If they refuse, then say there is nothing to meet about if they aren't comfortable having what they say recorded.
 
Wait just a freaking gosh durn minute...you were IN YOUR PRIVATE HOME...opened the door to let your child in the house, and you just happen to be strapped, and the bus driver saw your weapon and she/he called and 'tattled' on you? And now you have to have a meeting with the school? For what, to discipline you on what you should or should not do in your own PRIVATE home that is NOT on school property? What a crock load of bull@#$%!

Yes, request the meeting be recorded, and if they do not agree, get up say "This meeting is over." and walk out the door and don't let it hit you in the hind quarters as you leave. They do not, I repeat, do NOT, have the right to tell you what you can and cannot do on your private property. I can understand if you were to step a centimeter on school property, or even go out and meet the bus, and enter the bus, but you were in your home...which is NOT school property.

Oh for gosh petes sake...when will the madness end????
 
Why would you ever send your kids to head start? They are getting a head start at getting indoctrinated in socialism... But insist on recording I would do video too.
 
Well, I have to say, it could scare the children on the bus to see a guy with a large firearm strapped to his side , even though you have that right on your own property, I personally carry concealed even when I don't have to. Many people that don't understand get afraid when they see a firearm. I think what the school is asking is to please conceal when a school bus pull up in front of your house...I may be totally wrong as I wasn't there!

Good grief!! Another one who thinks rights should be restricted according to the irrational fears of others.

If we start letting the fears (and opinions) of other people dictate who will, how we will, when we will, and where we will.......... be "allowed" to exercise a right then we don't have any rights... all we have is our own cowardly fear of offending someone.

If that is the case, it is the fault of their candy ass parents and teaching (indoctrinating is probably more accurate) to the willful and infinite ignorance of liberal la-la land. The next generation of mindless subservient's to the government drones, fighting for a place in line to surrender their rights and freedom.
 
You invited them to your home for the meeting right? LOL.

If I were you....I would get a lawyer for the meeting. You can bet your @ss they will have law enforcement there. Once you are on "their" property...you are "at risk" of being set-up.

When I road the bus home back in the 70s-80's....sometimes my Dad would be out shooting trap when I got home.....no one said a word...of course we were all "Country" kids used to firearms.

I agree with Tammy Cedo's suggestion of recording the meeting.; or there'll be no meeting. Sue if they refuse any services at all, including refusing to drop your child off at the front door. You might also insist the meeting be held somewhere away from the school so that you may wear your weapon. Besides; schools are one of the most dangerous places to go since they're so called "Gun Free Zones". ;-)

This community is hostile to outsiders, yet my wife has had a job here for 6 years. We moved here after selling a house that was pretty isolated in the boonies. My 5 year old was very sick for almost 9 months or so and has a speech delay as a result. Kids don't play with her, just tease and when the "outsiders" come to the park, the ones who grew up here clear out and take their kids home. So in short, when we show up, they all leave and my kids have to play alone. It was a way to get her some friends and socialization and she now has many friends so I can't bear to pull her out.

BTW, she is an NRA member by choice!. She asked to join and how could I refuse! She even punched a kid in the nose for mocking the pledge of allegiance! Best phone call I ever got!

Regarding your comment of me possibly scaring kids...I volunteer in that classroom at least twice a week. They think I'm one of their teachers and go bananas when I show up. They call me Mr. Nathan when they see me around town, and in all those occurrences, I have been openly carrying a large semi-auto, so I'm sure my giant scawy gun doesn't in the least bit frighten any of those kids. There's at least 3 different occasions where my volunteering allowed the head start to remain open as state law requires 3 adults to 24 kids, so I think they could mind their own damn business, especially when I'm INSIDE my own home.

The only thing to fear...is running out of ammo when there are targets remaining. My property-My rules: pick up my child at the curb and stay out of my yard. Just my $0.02.
 
All you have to do is start the meeting with. I am supporting Barack Obama who also supports the Second Amendment. No Really! He said he really supports it so by me supporting it I am supporting him. They will smile and agree and then thank you for coming. All will be well.

Just look at those videos of the guy getting people to sign petitions. All he has to say is, In order to show support for Barack Obama, will you sign this petition to abolish the First Amendment so no one can say hateful things anymore and BAM they sign like a mindless zombie because they heard the magic words.
