Oced almost all day in West Branch Hospital while the wife had surgery on her knee. Many, many looks, but no comments. Give out some tri-folds in the waiting room. One gentlemen had a CPL but thought that it was illegal to carry in the hospital. I said not as long as you open carry with a CPL. I told a couple of them about the picnic in Marysville next weekend. Don't know if they will show or not!:jester::jester::jester:

Ive been OCing more often lately. Although, Im not sure how Genesee County is with OCing in Hospitals. I work Security at Mclaren Hospital in Flint, were not to allow any sort of weapon, knife, guns, mace, you know the deal. Although, it is a Private hospital. I disagree with disarming Hospitals, especially being that security isnt even to carry on hospital grounds.
My question is, what kind of comments did you get in the hospital, if any at all?
Do you know of any OC events in or close to the Flint, Grand Blanc area? How do you get one started?

There's one in Marysville this sunday, June 27, 2010.(1pm-5pm.) Thats near Port Huron. There will be alot of people at that one! If you can make it I'd Suggest going to that one!! There was two gentlemen stopped by the Assistant Police Chief Buckmaster, for carring at a fair. This was a couple of weeks ago! As far as ocing in the hospital, no comments from any hospital personal!!:pleasantry::pleasantry: To find out more info on picnics or gatherings go to www.michiganopencarry.org or www.opencarry.org Under (CALENDER OF EVENTS!)

I wish I could make it to that one. I work 7am to 4pm so, its kinda impossible. Ive always wanted to go to one heh.
Anyhow. Have fun tomorrow at your OC picnic

Thats just stupid. You work security at the hospital for crying out loud, you should at least have a billy club, knife, and some mace!

I work hospital security also, and like the poster above I am also not allowed to carry weapons of any kind. I have a radio and a set of keys.
Here in Louisiana it's not illegal to CCor OC in hospitals but most have policies forbiding staff, patients or visitors from having weapons anywhere except inside thier personal vehicles in the parking lot. If we find that you are armed out policy says that we can ask you to take the weapon out and secure it in your vehicle or to turn it over to security who will secure it in our safe until you are ready to leave. Refusing to abide by the policy results in LEOs being called and you getting charged with a Tresspass/Refusal to Leave charge.
