OC v. CC..... :-)

I couldn't even finish watching either video. Is the guy in the walmart vid serious? really? The comments are as bad as the video. I told my wife that if my brain ever short-circuits and I ask her to video me walking around with my sidearm on, to just shoot me instead.

Seriously, videos like the second one, make us ALL look like MORONS! Damn why do people feel like they have to speak for the entire CC community? "A walmart walk is a right of passage for CC people...." NO IT IS NOT...I didn't do it...Of course you have your first time carrying in public, but a "right of passage" it is not.

And a carrying a printed Walmart "Tactical" map....IDIOT....I wish there was a way to quantify common sense on a standardized test lmao....

I don't really have a problem with the first video, but why do people really feel the need to video themselves carrying guns then posting it online for everyone to see? I would condone such behavior if you were constantly harassed by local PD or something, but other wise, what't the point?

Walmart tactical map? These nutjobs give the sane cc people a bad name.
Disclaimer - watched only part of the videos, and my volume is muted.

1st video: I think the guy tried to make some point on knowing your laws, but I also noticed what I think was FMJ's loaded in his magazine he was carrying instead of JHP. When I seen this, I automatically took what he was saying less seriously. Although carrying FMJ's is legal, it just not recommended (in most calibers) for the risk of overpenetrating your target and hitting an innocent person. Overall, not impressed.

2nd video: What a waste of my time watching this guy walk around Walmart while CCing. When I first began CCing, I agree that it made me a little nervous. I quickly got over this feeling, and I never felt the need to do any "right of passage" walk anywhere. He does make us CCers look like total morons.

As for the whole OC vs CC debate. That depends on personal preference and local laws. I prefer CC.

Tomorrow I'll post a video of me carrying at the ice cream shop and nothing eventfull happening.

At leat OC guy had good comments on the laws.

At least OC guy had good comments on the laws.

The guy in the first video was giving more of his opinion rather than quoting actual Washington statutes. He seemed to be confusing posting a no guns on private property with places that are prohibited to carry by statute, and there is no requirement to put the gun in a case in a vehicle in Washington; without a CPL the only two requirements in a vehicle are the gun itself must be unloaded and not concealed on the body.

Rich M, do you think you can top this?

Both of these are such a waste I couldn't stand to watch more than a minute. Both are prime examples of the first quote in my signature. Just substitute videos for questions.

Food for thought: JHP (good defensive rounds) are quite expensive, maybe he couldn't afford them.

While over penetration is a factor, its more vital to know what's in your foreground and background of your target.

The amount of times a bystander is hit by a bullet that completely misses the intended target are so small, the chances of hitting one after going through someone is improbable at best.

In the northwest, its rainy and cold often...requiring layers and thick coats (much more than the ballistic tests require). JHP may not penetrate through this much clothing.

Unfortunately the State of New Jersey doesn't agree with the oonsensus on FMJ rounds. If fact, hollow points are illegal for a carry weapon in NJ, FMJ are all you can use.

I don't think new Jersey should every be used when taking about firearms...unless the topic is about ridiculous laws. :-) :-)
