The EO changes DOD policy with regard to MAVNI (Military Accessions Vital to National Interest), a program that allow foreigners legally living in the US who have high value skills to serve in the military.
Under the EO, DOD rules will be modified to allow, to begin with, up to 1500 illegals who came here with their parents before they were 16 and are approved under DACA (Deferred Action for Child Arrivals) to serve in the military. Such service would make them eligible for expedited citizenship. The problem with these young people? Under DACA, they do not go through the same detailed background checks as foreigners who come to the US through legal channels.
Anyone else see a problem with that?
