I heard part of the presser with Bloomin' Idiot, and he really went after North and South Carolina as being the biggest sources of guns coming into NYC. I couldn't tell if he was blaming the cache they seized today on the Carolina's, but it was clear that there's baucoup antipathy coming out of the Mayor's office for our sister-Southern states.

That said, it's interesting that NC is one of the more difficult states to acquire guns in, what with the purchase permit requirement for each handgun transfer, and like SC also, a fingerprinting requirement. SC has a 20/40 actual or corrected vision requirement too. Seems to me if illegal gun-runners are making trips to and from the Deep South and NYC, they'd pick the less restrictive states to get them from.

Nah....Don't mean nuthin' what Doomberg thinks.....He's just an establishment elitist. I could add "Yankee" to that description, but North or South, we all got establishment elitists. Doomberg does make the worst of ours look like freakin' pikers though.

I wonder what he'd have to say about a Mosin-Nagant 91/30 with a 10 round box mag instead of the normal 5 round. A bolt action gun that was a true "Assault Weapon" with only 5 rounds.

I think that as he seems to think that Federal Law and the Constitution means nothing to him, that he be banned from travel outside the state of NY. And any sting ops he bankrolls, should place him in a Federal pen. Or maybe a better idea would be to ship him to Gitmo. He is a terrorist.

I think I do remember hearing that VA passed something like that. I know for sure that I heard Bloomie was being investigated for using NYC monies to fund MAIG's nationwide bus-tour. Haven't heard what, if anything, has become of that investigation, but it sure seems like blatant corruption to me if true.

Part of the rhetoric the politicians use in New York is: Yes we know that guns are illegal in NY City. But they are still available upstate and in the other 49 states.
The only way to keep our city safe is to eliminate guns everywhere.

when i purchased my first handgun in SC and i didnt have a CWP, there was no fingerprinting, nor do i recall anything about any eyesight questions...just sayin. since that time i've purchased more handguns and rifles while having my CWP, so things are a bit different.

Ahh, I got confused actually. I was citing the parts of the SC page here on usacarry for CWP requirements, not purchase requirements. Oops. Sorry about that. Nevermind.

I couldn't agree more but I'll bet anything that The Bloomer will use this as an excuse to want legislation to stop the firearms coming in from those "nasty southern states" with the "loose" firearm laws.

He was pushing that Stop And Frisk helped keep NYC safe. However, unless I missed it, that illegal activity had no bearing on stopping this network of criminals. The only mention was by one of the crooks that was overheard to say the SAF policy meant he had to be more careful in making the transfer. It did not stop the resale. What rolled them up was good old fashioned police work, including under cover officers. But you don't hear BloominIdiot congratulate the PD for great undercover police work. He also didn't acknowledge at least one of the gun runners was a felon that was not allowed to purchase any firearm in NC or SC. In other words, he was obtaining them illegally to begin with. So, as we would say to Bloomers, leave the legal gun owners alone and go after the illegals.
-----How about starting with a list from the Feds and State of NY penal system and "stop and frisk" actual felons, not just the average minority because they're looking at you (police) wrong. I realize it makes too much sense to "target" those who have already committed crimes instead of trying to make criminals out of law abiding citizens. It's like the TSA that refuses to inspect women in burquas but force toddlers to take off braces and walk or force grandma to get out of her wheel chair or pat down a person's colostmy bag so hard it causes it to break. This is insanity!
----Also, I recently saw a video recorded by a black person who was stopped by a NYC police team because he "looked at them wrong". This is a guy who has been stopped other times by these same "defenders of justice" and had never been found to have done anything wrong. There have been numerous comments by PD active duty and retired that clearly state each LEO has a quota of number of stops. That meant they had to stop anybody for no reason other than to make their numbers. Failure to make numbers brings an LEO before their superior with appropriate disciplinary action. There have been cases of innocent citizens arrested on these stops, only to be let go later, in order to make the numbers look better.
