I've been seeing that some Democratic politicians who claim to be NRA members have caved and agreed that "Assault" weapons should be banned. They say that CT was the "tipping point" and enough is enough. The media is happy to let us know so they can say "see, even your own agree". I look at it like this in two different ways. First, there are times in your life when things get really rough and some of the people you considered friends all of the sudden disappear. You find out who your true friends are when the *&%$ hits the fan. Second, I experience this periodically in my profession. I am a doctor of chiropractic. The profession was founded on drugless principles. I help many people without the use of pharmacuticals. There are those in my profession that couldn't help someone if their life depended on it with their skills so they become wannabe MD's. They would love to broaden the scope of the profession to include prescribing drugs and even doing minor surgery. Just because they have a DC at the end of their name like I do doesn't mean they are any colleague of mine. They are the termites that try to destroy the profession from the inside out while the ignorant in society do it from the outside in. When someone expects me to be crushed that other NRA members /gunrights people want to water down the constitution, my attitude is !@#$ them. They obviously weren't any friend of mine nor true guns rights advocates to begin with. It is sometimes tough to go against the establishment but I say stand for something or fall for everything.
