It was sent a few weeks after my email, I am glad we have at least one logical rep in CA.
Thank you for your recent correspondence expressing your concerns regarding recent legislative proposals to further erode our 2 nd Amendment right to bear arms. Be assured that I will continue to oppose any legislation that further restricts gun-owner rights.
As a mother, I am horrified over mass shooting events like the recent Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy. Unfortunately, many politicians and activists think they can prevent further violence by restricting the gun rights of law abiding citizens. California already has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country. More gun laws will not make us safer, but they will make the innocent more vulnerable.
Jared Lee Loughner perpetrator of the horrific shooting of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and 18 others, Seung-Hui Cho of the Virginia Tech massacre, and most recently, Adam Lanza of the Sandy Hook Elementary School killings, according to reports, all suffered from mental health issues. Any solution that does not address the mental health of those involved in these horrific displays of evil will ultimately result in the failure to prevent similar tragedies from occurring.
