Northampton County, PA no longer issuing Non-Resident LTC

Continued...

She said yes they issue to non-rez but it takes 3 VISITS!
The last visit is to pick it up. I don't ever press the issue with these types of "servants" of the people. So I just forget that and move on.
Someone else may wish to call and hopefully get a different person and get a better answer.
All in all a good day though.
Thanks immensely for the help on this question.

To Symtron in South Carolina:

Definitely do it . Be sure to have S.C. Drivers License, S.C. full carry equivalent permit and $20 CASH ,
couple of Quarters for the meter ;-)
I know it would be difficult 'cause you're coming up from the South, but try to avoid Philly.

Rest of my experience below.

OK, home from Bucks County with LTC in hand.
Long ride, much longer than Northampton or even Pikes for me but very pleasant experience.
Went with a buddy, made the better part of the day of it; Doylestown (county seat) Courthouse.o
Took a bit over an hour at the S.O., 45 minutes of that was waiting, because I think they were in the act of "processing" some bad boys
before us and so we had to wait in the busy clerical area for that time. Then we went to "the little room". Pretty funny because they have 2 different cameras in the little room, one on the left says "permits", the one on the right says "booking". The young lady who took care of us, Michelle, was very pleasant and engaging.
She explained that they are overwhelmed with applicants these days and was also aware that Northampton stopped issuing to non-re

nice i told u in and out in about 45 min and Michelle was nice lets hope they dont change later on and not except non res

I am in a pickle. Sheriff wants to issue my RENEWAL to me but I am presently residing in Toronto Canada, although a US Citizen with a US Passport. State Police returned my RENEWAL application with a 1" x 1" sticky note on it saying "We don't do Canada".

Am wondering what would happen if I were to show up in Bucks or Lackawanna or Centre with my United States Passport, Canadian Drivers License, Non Res permits from Utah, VA, NH, Maine, AZ and my current PA permit? I have obviously been vetted by the FBI (NICS) and can even provide a Canada wide criminal record clearance certificate from the RCMP and local police. I hold a reasonably high security clearance from the Canadian military with whom I have done business (although it may have expired?). Heck, I even have a mailing address (not residence) in Buffalo NY.

Can't wait for National Reciprocity Bill to make it through the Senate one of these years (not one, but TWO have been introduced this session to match the House Bill that was passed overwhelmingly this year). Just keep Federal Law down to reciprocity guaranteed, and deny the felons and whackos and I'm happy.

Are you in Canada on a visa? Or have you relocated? If the former, I'd say a certified copy of the visa would be helpful toward showing that you're not permanently residing in a new country. I'd try calling them.

Torontoguy, I of course, am no attorney but in my experience with bureaucracy, they would not care if you are James Bond, a member of Seal Team 6 or Barack Obama. The law says, and they are crystal clear that you must show them your "Full Carry" Permit from the "State in which you reside". If you have that, you are good to go; if not, (and this is my opinion), think I you will have a long, fruitless drive.

But it would not hurt you to call several S.O.s for opinion. Get it straight from each of them.
